ATLANTA -- Two Delta Airlines employees were attacked on a MARTA train
MARTA police said they were investigating the incident. A witness said he watched the violent attack unfold Sunday.
"We were intimidated. Everyone was terrified. People were trying to run, but there was nowhere to run," the man, who requested anonymity, told Channel 2's Erica Byfield.
Around midnight, a MARTA train pulled up to the Garnett Station in Downtown Atlanta, authorities said. The witness said up to 30 people boarded the southbound train.
"Once the doors opened, it was like a bum rush of people," he told Byfield. "The next thing you know, they started just beating him. There was blood everywhere. People were hollering and screaming," he said.
A MARTA police report identified two victims as Delta Airlines employees. The report said one victim had a soda can smashed in his face and his wallet stolen, while the other was punched repeatedly in his face.
The witness said the attackers were teens chanting "B. F. P. L."
"I don't know if that's a gang," the witness said.
By the time the train made it to West End stop, some riders were desperate to get off, but the car doors would not open, the witness said.
"So basically we were just trapped," he said.

. . . and to think that we almost bought a place in Inman Park! We must have been out of our minds (or just young and foolish).
Know yer backdrop before shooting. Don’t be killing the innocents too.
We need to work on our states to give us our rights to Constitutional Carry. Americans are getting too comfortable with begging. Get off your knees!
What's going on with these "nondescript teens"? This is becoming an epidemic all around the country lately...
Wow... how awful. When did this happen?
We think alike.
“”We were intimidated. Everyone was terrified. People were trying to run, but there was nowhere to run,” the man, who requested anonymity, told Channel 2’s Erica Byfield.”
Seems like the right people in the right place could have solved this. Run? Anonymity? A problem that contains its own solution.
The attackers sense fear and weakness just like a dog. Hurt’em before they hurt you - they understand that. That stays with them for awhile.
Used to ride the MARTA trains and buses in the mid-1980s without any problems but I always watched my back.
I thought BFPL stood for Being F-ing Proud Leftists.
I believe you are right, but cannot locate it at georgiacarry.org
To help the lazy and the unskilled, do you have a reference to that?

Two thoughts for you.
(1) WRT to riding MARTA - we’ve lived in ATL area since ‘85. Never WITNESSED anything of note except vagrant urination and some young toughs trying their thug looks on. But nothing overt. But ... I don’t ride MARTA off hours or when there’s no big event and large, shall we say, suburban populations on the trains — leaving Philips arena or Braves stadium. I would NOT want my college age daughter on MARTA south of Peachtree or North Ave after 11 PM. Lastly, some people LOOK assaultable; other don’t; other AREN’T assaultable (if that’s a word).
(2) When I carry my .45 I carry an extra mag on my left waist, right next to my cel phone. NO ONE has ever reactedto/noticed it. That gives me 15 rounds for my .45 Truthfully, if I need 15 rounds, I am in a gun fight as opposed to a self-defense moment, and I am in deep $hiite.
I wanna know, how do they manage to arrange the MARTA train cars so 80% of the seats face the wrong way, and 100% of those facing the right way are already occupied by some urban loser with a bad attitude going farther than anyone else?
