Best Movie Fights/Action films Of All Time?: Vanity
self ^ | 4/14/2011 | paulycy

My middle son is a (straight) professional actor in a major metropolitan area. He asked me to name my favorite movie fights/action pics of all time. I figured I'd put it to the FReeper community of military, martial arts, movie buffs and various masters of mayhem to help come up with the best of the best.

Brave Heart Stirling Bridge: Fabulous battle scene. Completely inaccurate, but great cinema nonetheless.

If we're taking the word "Fight" in a broader sense I have to throw in the John Wayne / Victor McLaglen combination pub crawl and brawl from The Quiet Man. "Here's a stick for ya to beat the nice lady".

Since you said fight scene, not epic battle scene, I nominate this one:

Fight on the movie set in Dragon - The Bruce Lee Story.

It had gold bricks, nuclear devices and deadly flying hats; all necessary elements of a good fight scene. Shocking!

Don't enter a fight without them. ;0)

So many different types of “fights”....Fistfight...Gunfight...I guess growing up in the that era I would say about any 80’s action film....(Not really a fight) But I always liked the scene in indiana jones when the huge dude is facing off with a big sword and jones just shoots the guy dead!

Charles Bronson in Hard Times. The Steel Cage match against the huge, bald guy is classic!

From Russia With Love

James Bond (Sean Connery) vs Red Grant (Robert Shaw) on the train.

That had the absolute look of a fight to the death with stomping, eye gouging and seems way ahead of its time.

How about the fight scenes in every episode of The Roy Rogers Show? Sometimes his dog Bullet even got in on the action!
