Best Movie Fights/Action films Of All Time?: Vanity
self ^ | 4/14/2011 | paulycy

My middle son is a (straight) professional actor in a major metropolitan area. He asked me to name my favorite movie fights/action pics of all time. I figured I'd put it to the FReeper community of military, martial arts, movie buffs and various masters of mayhem to help come up with the best of the best.

I know I will get flamed for this, I enjoyed Neo vs Smith. It was funny.

last scene, the one in the bar, from “Shane”:

Sure that qualifies. That's a good one. Can't beat breaking chairs over some cowboy's head! A good bottle or two couldn't hurt either.

I liked the matrix movies although they got dopier as they went along. But the effects were nice and some of the shoot 'em up scenes were great.

The bar fight in Serenity... tiny little girl realistically kicks the $hit out of a room full of people.

I also enjoyed when that guy was beating himself up in Fight Club, now that I think about seeing Jim Carey beat himself up in Liar Liar was even better.

Oh man. Could I suggest that maybe they get categorized? For instance:

One on One.

Bar Scene.

War scene.

SciFi scene.

Gun fight.

etc. So many of different settings that some out.

Braveheart

That whole move is epic. I love it. I tease my wife about it, threatening to watch it yet again whenever she asks what I want to watch. She dreads the sound of its name now.

Maybe once the thread gets bigger I'll summarize the findings...? But I think the answers will just trickle in as they occur to people. YMMV.

Which one?
The one where Wayne and McLaglen fought or the one where Wayne and O’hare fought and he drug her ass around all of Ireland?

Jimmy Bond and Oddjob in the vault at Fort Knox. It had gold bricks, nuclear devices and deadly flying hats; all necessary elements of a good fight scene. Shocking!

“Emperor of the North” - Lee Marvin vs. Ernest Borgnine, no holds barred!

I actually opened the thread to see if I could work that film in! Loved that movie!
