Need some Freeper help from any computer folks please.
Last night I received a prompt to upgrade to Internet Explorer 9. I did, and this new version SUCKS! The swapped the favorites and home buttons to the right side of the screen, and my toolbars are now gone.
I want to go back to my old one, but can't remember if I had 8 or 7. I run Vista. Is it just a matter of downloading and installing IE 8 or 9? Any help would be appreciated, and no, I am not a computer geek, and I admit, I am a computer idiot, so please keep the jokes to a minimum. But I can take them nonetheless!
system restore?
Get google chrome, fastest browser out there.
sorry for your trouble...you saved me from doing the same thing, though...
was about to d/l the same ‘Important’ update...
I ran from Vista.
Learn to use it. You can’t go home again
Go to the tools drop down on the right side, select toolbars you can choose which tool bars you would like to display.
all the old stuff is at the right top corner, the icon that looks like a cog
Sorry a little misdirection
Go to the view drop down menu on the top, select toolbars you can choose which tool bars you would like to display.
If you want to download and install IE8 again, go here:

Don’t uninstall ie9, its better than the old version, but if you want it to look like the old version you can also right click near the icon that look like the house and select menu bar and favourite bar
Where are u staying in Turkey?
I got seduced into upgrading to IE-7 some years ago, and the initial version of it sucked pretty bad. I had a geeky friend who told me how you can cause your computer to revert to a date and time that was PRIOR to the date and time you downloaded the new version, and voila!...you are magically back where you originally were. No harm, no foul. (I do not remember how I did it, but one of our Freeper friends surely can). Anyhow, if-and-when they get the new version cleaned up to where it no longer sucks, THEN you can move on up to it.
Did the prompt tell you to upgrade to “Intrenet Exploror 9”?
I agree. I love IE9.
I was stationed in Turkey when I made my account. I live in California now, but I was at Incirlik AB.
