Billionaire landlord, hotel magnate, television star and self-described Tea Partier Donald Trump is turning up the heat on President Barack Obama, insisting that after three weeks of probing the question, he is now more convinced than ever that the president has failed to prove he is a citizen of the United States.
“Three weeks ago when I started, I thought he was probably born in this country,” Trump, who is very publicly mulling his own run for the Republican nomination for president in 2012, told Today’s Meredith Vieira. “Right now, I have some real doubts.”
In a wide-ranging interview that aired Thursday, Trump said he is not convinced that the birth certificate that Obama has produced, certified by the state of Hawaii where Obama was born and acknowledged as legitimate by most scholars, is enough proof. He says he has dispatched his own investigators to Hawaii. “I have people that actually have been studying it and they cannot believe what they’re finding,” he said.
“His grandmother in Kenya said he was born in Kenya, and she was there and witnessed the birth. He doesn’t have a birth certificate or he hasn’t shown it,” Trump told Vieira. “He has what’s called a certificate of live birth. That is something that’s easy to get. When you want a birth certificate, it’s hard to get.”
Each state is responsible for issuing its own birth certificates and the state of Hawaii, which issued Obama’s, stands behind it. In many states, this document is referred to as the certificate of live birth. Independent analysts have also confirmed the authenticity of Obama’s birth certificate. Several leading Republicans, including Karl Rove, have dismissed the controversy. Glenn Beck, the conservative television and radio personality, last week accused Trump of taking the birth certificate issue too far. But the so-called “birther movement” has continued to raise questions about the president’s birth. And Trump has enthusiastically joined them.

This is not another Al Capone's Vault exploration. This is the biggest deal, going after the most powerful man in the world. Trump would not waste his legacy on a hunch.

He KNOWS. obama has a Registration of birth, which is NOT a Certificate of live birth signed and attested to by a licensed professional. it has un-notarized witness signature, and a birth date listed, which is equally unverified.
Obama’s Hawaiian documentation does NOT prove he is a Natural Born Citizen born in Hawaii to two parents who are citizens.

Meredith treated Trump as if he was loony. She had a smirk on her face most of the entire interview. By her demeanor she clearly thinks he’s got a loose screw when it comes to the birther issue and she was barely tolerable during the rest of the interview.
Realize old FRiend, we on FR have had YEARS to do debate and scrutinize obama of arabia's lack of citizenship, lack of records and misuse of SSN's. Those that walk the halls of power are just getting a clue how vulnerable obamma really is....I hope.

I'm all in. I would think that in this day and age, rollers like Trump, Beck and yes, obama of arabia would have staff dedicated to not only FR, but huffpost, kos and du as well. Frankly, the MSM is so far behind I cringe when I read a report that we all knew about and posted to 3 days before.

But no one dares to approach the subject by this logic — they keep on talking about being born in Hawaii and how his mother was a US citizen and blah-blah-blah.

Words such as "scholars" have no meaning anymore. Actually they are used for deceitful purposes. These 'scholars' undoubtedly were merely left-wing hacks.
While attending college many years ago, one particular professor made the statement that World War II would not be covered, the reason given that "Everyone knows the Russians won." I brought up the subject of the Normandy Invasion, which did not sit well with him. Although the Germans made a huge blunder with respect to Stalingrad, I reminded him of the fact that Stalin was pleading for a second front. as he was taking a pounding. The great and wise Stalin had executed most of his competent military officers during the Great Purges. I always believed that if the Germans were fighting a one front war, the Soviet Union would have been defeated.
He didn't self implode, but he was openly seething. He took a noticeable negative attitude towards myself after that exchange.
The moral of the story is that leftist 'educators' are used to a captive audience. Literally. Facts are disposable. The ideology, even though it may be riddled with lies, must be defended at all costs. When terms such as 'most scholars' are used, you can be sure that any academic who opposes the status quo have been simply relegated to the status of nonexistence. There are plenty of scientists who do not support the concept of global warming; many do not realize that such a group exists, due to the fact that an academic form of fascism is alive and well in America.
Real scientists are those that welcome opposition; what passes for modern science today is an oligarchy which promotes those who embrace socialist science, and punishes those who realize that good science is validated through honest discourse.

New U.S. Birth Certificate Requirement
Beginning April 1, 2011, the U.S. Department of State will require the full names of the applicant’s parent(s) to be listed on all certified birth certificates to be considered as primary evidence of U.S. citizenship for all passport applicants, regardless of age. Certified birth certificates missing this information will not be acceptable as evidence of citizenship. This will not affect applications already in-process that have been submitted or accepted before the effective date.

In addition to this requirement, certified copies of birth certificates must also include the following information to be considered acceptable primary evidence of U.S. citizenship:
Full name of the applicant
Date of birth
Place of birth
Raised, embossed, impressed or multicolored seal of issuing authority
Registrar’s signature
The date the certificate was filed with the registrar’s office (must be within one year)
Can Obama obtain a passport now? Just asking.
