A flock of ten flamingoes have met a brutal end at a zoo in Eskilstuna in eastern Sweden after a curious anteater broke into their compound and clawed them to death, leaving a further five birds nursing injuries.

Morning! Well, afternoon. Pat found “Healthy Latin Cooking.” Golly, there it was on a bookshelf, right at Pat-eye-level. Who would think to look there?

Then I went to Walmart and got Frank’s picture taken. He wasn’t very cooperative, but we got a couple of good pictures that show his astounding curls to advantage.

When he goes to bed, I’ll take some kids to the library. It’s the used book sale! Unfortunately, it started on Monday, so the best books will be gone, but maybe there will be something from Thomas Sowell.

Yes, noted the typo right after I’d read it the fifth time, which is about the same time I hit “post”.

Could be worse, it could be souffle.

I like the little growls and grunts he does.
Makes him sound like one of the fast zombies from Half Life 2.
If I had the programs, I’d dub the fast zombie sounds over the hamster.

Well, there could be Marsh Mallows, strange creatures from the land of Karsh Kentu.
They have fur, cat like eyes, no ears or visible mouth, and no legs.
Yet they somehow scale trees, chirp, trill, and are completely indestructible.
Setting one of these amorphous blobs of fur onto the head of an enemy results in a horrific fusion of man and Mallow when the creature oozes down over the victims head.
Good interrogation technique.

Karsh Kentu could have taken out Osama Bin Laden without scuffing his manicure.

Kentu would have made it a horrifying and long endurance test for him before offing him in some bizarre fashion.

Mizuki san is my other sweeter self.

That hardly seems possible!

Tonight it is the rice and pinto bean casserole. They all complain about it, but it's cheap. It rained on my plants this morning while I was at Walmart getting Francisco's picture taken.

So now it’s May 6th, “La Cruda de Mayo,” and we take a fond look back at how America USED to mark May 5th.

Hung out at the same O’Club for a couple of years. No rocks. Dad said Shepard was bats, but he felt that way about all fighter pilots.

Dad said there were some guys who went into the Navy because they were obsessed with flying. They were the ones who got the great ratings as pilots ... and others were the ones who died. Dad joined the Navy as a pilot because they were recruiting flyers in the late 50’s, and he had good reflexes, but he really wanted to be a military officer. Flying was just the way for a farm boy with a year of college to get in.

Oh, you’re welcome. It’s a great photo; one I’ve never seen before. And what a location!

Makes me wonder what the photographer was doing five or ten seconds later after that flaming plume had pushed several tons more broiling hot air in his direction.

You mean he leveraged the system to get what he wanted out of it? Good for him.

He put in almost 30 years, including two years in Vietnam and two in the Indian Ocean, and was a reasonably successful pilot and a very successful administrator. He won and the Navy won.

Regarding your tagline:

(God, family, country, mom, apple pie, the girl next door and Ford trucks)

I've got most of that covered. The girl next door got away from me. I had to get one from Pennsylvania.

Same thing happened to my dad.
