Today at work, one of the younger lasses commented on how “wonderful Lady Gaga was as a mentor!” ( left the area post-haste, and pondered what planet I was currently lifing on!)

The Idol tour concert last year was very disappointing to me, a senior citizen. Each of the top 10 sang 1, 2 or 3 individual songs with a sound system that was so loud it took ear plugs to make it bearable. There seemed to be no staging, choreography or costumes, just very high volume and flashing lights.
In 2007 there were duets, trios and groups in addition to solos. The whole show was delightful. That was the year of Jordin Sparks, Sanjaya Malakar and Melinda Doolittle. I especially remember a medly of patriotic songs featuring, among others, Phil Stacey a member of the US Navy. Ashley Ferl's crying picture started its career in 2007.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow. I wonder what this year's tour show will be like?
