I didn't, but that reminds me of something I forgot to tell you all. I got an e-mail from Ticketmaster that tickets to the X Factor audition shows are free. They are going to be filming in LA, Chicago, New Jersey, Dallas, Miami, and Seattle.

Here is the link, if anyone is interested: X Factor Audience Tickets

Wow I would have thought that they would have done most of the auditions by now.

This week on American Idol, the top four contestants will be singing songs from the Leiber and Stoller songbook.

Leiber and Stoller were prolific songwriters from the mid 50s to the early 60s, writing songs for many early rock n roll, R&B/soul, and late jazz/blues groups.

No, I’m not going to go. I’m afraid no one would go with me. LOL

The X Factor auditions are a little different then AI. They go to the big stage right away. It’s more like America’s Got Talent, from what I understand.

Lieber and Stoller? Uh-oh.

It'll be very easy to make poor song choices with their material.

Most of their biggest hits were borderline novelty records.

Hey y’all. Still following your posts every week...and LOLing! I’ll never figure out how you watch, listen and post at the same time.

Anyway, is there a DWTS thread? I can’t find anything.

No small feat for Lauren but you're right. With the dwindling, it's a deer in the headlights feeling. For that matter, Shania Twain is starting over. She lost all her confidence and something happened to her voice. She's back to her roots with the first people she worked with. Once the confidence goes, it's like the past success was just a dream.

She won 5 grammys and that time flew by.

It's great that singing is something one can usually stop and start over. I am on a long break right now. I haven't sung or looked at music in a month. I can enjoy singing or not singing.

That’s a pretty long time...what kind of music do you sing?

I wasn't a Jacob fan and didn't care for his voice/style of music and wished he had gone home earlier. However, I am very glad that you posted what you posted. I was hoping that I wasn't the only one that felt the way you do.

I hate seeing fellow FReepers being so judgmental about something the person has no control over. This is one of the reason's Christians(and conservative non-Christians, too) are seen in such a bad light because too often we're guilty of being judgmental of others.

Jacob NEVER once positioned himself as gay. The guy was probably picked on unmercifully growing up, but he's never complained about that in any type of public forum. I respect the guy, and I don't believe he's chosen to live a gay lifestyle. Just because someone was born with effeminate characteristics does not make them gay.

I have hated the way that some on this board have slammed Jacob just because he's effeminate. Jacob is not Adam Lambert, and I don't think he's deserved the treatment he's gotten here at FR... Just saying...

Thanks. That’s what I was trying to say. Jacob comes from a Christian family and seems to be religious himself. He is effeminate but he isn’t out there pushing the gay agenda like lambert. Your post was very nice.

Seriously, you have to do a thread for X Factor! Went to the show yesterday and it was fantastic! Pauler back with Simon, who was in fine form — happy and funny! Adele was in the audience and two people did her songs, and Simon called on her to comment.

The bad auditions were hilarious, and there was a good one that will rival Susan Boyle. Seriously. The entire audience had goosebumps and shot to their feet.

I think this is going to be a great show. We will be needing that thread!

That article had interesting picks for the 4.

Someone will sing “Stand by Me” for sure. But which one should?

Oh my gosh, Lady Gaga will be their mentor this week!?! I think the Gaga mentoring Scotty will be as good a match as that country singer who had to mentor Adam Lambert, and just shook his head at the black nail polish and makeup.

I keep reading about how “house of the rising sun” was Haley’s greatest performance to date, and I feel weird because I hated it. Last night I came home from x factor and wanted to hear Haley do “Rolling in the Deep” again, and watched it on YouTube, and she rocked it properly. She was angry and hurt and never smiled. But she was singing the New Orleans ruination song as a Man (she is clearly not one!) and she was smiling while telling us how the House has ruined her life. And she didn’t sing most of it; she yelled. The contest is not “the Loudest American”. I’m hoping for her to be the weakest this week, but she is more confident than Lauren so we will have to see...
