Scotty is the guy your grandma wants you to date. I suspect that's why he's so popular here on FreeRepublic (plus that facts that he's country, probably from a conservative family, and looks a little like GWB).
He seems to be a good kid.
That being said, if his fan base of Freepers and teenage girls vote him all the way to the top spot, it would be the biggest travesty of talent and merit in idol history. He has outlasted many much more talented contestants.
