I was live with you tonight as best I could be. My new shift makes it possible. No more graveyard shifts. I feel like I’ve rejoined the land of the living. :)

Probably. The crazy stalkers are something I couldn’t imagine dealing with if I were famous. There is this documentary streaming on Netflix about these crazy people who walk the line between rabid fan and stalker of the singer, Tiffany (yes the one who sang in the malls in the 80s). One of them did have a restraining orders against him at some point. It’s funny because what kind of weirdo would stalk Tiffany, but it’s also sort of terrifying how they have these elaborate relationships in their minds with people they don’t know. I think it’s called I Think We’re Alone Now.

I like Scotty, though I think he needs to work on his delivery or stage presence. I like Casey, but it depends on the type of music he is singing at the moment. I like Lauren, but not when she does Miley Cyrus music and James. I’m not into heavy metal, so doubt that I would buy a James cd.

I like Scotty, Lauren, Casey and James, I guess in that order.

I’d like a Scotty and Lauren finale. They said the top two get contracts. I would like to see Scotty and Lauren put out individual cd’s with a couple of different duets together.

Just the fact that I can’t understand her when she sings. No other reason, seems to be a sweet girl, but just didn’t care for her style. :)

This is two reasons you don't like her, right? You don't understand her when she sings and you don't like her style? Do you not understand the words she's singing?

Now, I wonder why you liked her... see how that works? ;)

She sings in tune, she's in total control of her voice, she is equally masterful singing a torchy song requiring a soft yodel and something full-throttle with rasp. Her scatting tonight was convincing (it actually swung) and I'm very impressed by her stylistic diversity at the age of 20.

Most Americans (even the musical ones) are one-dimensional in ability and/or taste. They refuse to believe that it's possible for a person to be so musical that all genres resonate as much to him/her as each of them does to each separate observer. You have this attribute embodied in Casey and Haley this year. Haley is more polished at it than Casey is, while Casey has the edge in terms of musicianship and depth, at least from what each of them has presented so far.

It will probably wind up getting both of them voted off before the finale. "She's not singing the style of music I like this week...I liked what he did last week but tonight he's singing jazz again. Hate it. Buh-bye."

I’m not into basketball, only mentioned it because our son goes to state. They haven’t chosen the carrier yet. States basketball team isn’t too goo this year.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2704602/posts

We went to MSU last Friday. They had their annual UURAF. Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum. Our son’s was on the:

DEVELOPMENT OF A FUNCTIONAL GENOMICS PLATFORM FOR EXPLORING TROPANE ALKALOID BIOSYNTHESIS IN ATROPA BELLADONNA

Now that’s a mouthful! lol They had a couple paragraphs written up on it, that I’ll spare you, so your eyes won’t glaze over. :)

He did get a $4,000.00 Fellowship research grant to continue those studies from the American Society of Plant Biologists. Then in the summer of 2013 he will have to go to Austin, Texas to present the results.

We’re just so proud of him. :)

Glad you have better hours now. I used to work 3rd shift and liked that better than 2nd shift. But, it probably depends on the type of work. :)

Still it feels like old times having you on the thread. :)

It always seemed to me that Paul was auditioning for a spot with the Brothers Gibb. His teeth was the clincher for BeeGee look.

David Cook will return to the American Idol stage next week to premiere a new song.

http://www.digitalspy.com/ustv/s91/american-idol/news/a314559/david-cook-to-debut-song-on-american-idol.html

The former winner will debut the track ‘The Last Goodbye’, taken from his upcoming second album, on the Thursday night results show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“I’m certainly looking forward to meeting the new contestants, and also really excited to meet the new judges,” he told the trade publication.

Cook, who triumphed in the seventh season of the Fox competition, previously recorded the farewell song for season ten, a new version of ‘(Don’t You Forget) About Me’, originally released by Simple Minds.

Yeah, paul was quite good tonight with Maggie May. If he would always choose that kind of song, he would have stayed longer.

The General? Everyone who follows college hoops knows that’s Bobby Knight! Wonder what he had against the Colonel? :)

Speaking of the Colonel...my daughters, SIL and I once visited the cemetery where he is buried and had a KFC picnic right there by his grave...yeah we’re weird like that. We figured it was a fitting tribute though...only later did we find out that picnicking in the cemetery was a no-no! Ooops!

LOLOLOLOL

In the tradition of hard-hitting FR investigations, I went to the FBI Vault website to see this death threat against The Colonel for myself. Here is the link. The text of the letter says:

From: US Armed Forces
To: Colonel and Mrs. Sanders

This is to inform you that you are in grave danger of being murdered. For details go to any recruiting station and all the Los Angeles (something?) Missle Base. - The General

The envelope is addressed to Col. Sanders and Claudia Sanders, The Col.'s Lady. LOL *twirling my finger next to my head* cuckoo! cuckoo!

In the same file there is a letter from The Colonel to J. Edgar Hoover inviting him to his 80th birthday party.
