Nothing between you and the North Pole but a barbed wire fence (and it’s been blown down)...

This Texan and her family once lived for three and a half years in Williston ND. They were very happy years, in spite of the extreme cold. The people were so warm and friendly, that they made up for cold temps on the thermometer.

Aren’t they drilling like crazy out there?

I’ve heard that you can’t rent a room hardly anywhere, due to all the oil workers living in them.

Is this actually the case?

I live on Maui and it is already climbing to 80 degrees for today. Match that to the temp in N.Dakota today and I say, the difference in taxes is not that important to me. Aloha

It isn’t always too fracking cold in ND. In the summer it is often too fracking hot.

I read this last night and checked out craigslist for both ND and Bismarck, almost no jobs. It’s a joke.

RE: Too fracking cold.

The reaon why people still opt to STAY in California even with the huge budget deficit, huge state debt, higher taxes, and an intractable immigration problem is this -— GOD GIVEN WEATHER.

People will tolerate lots of disadvantages for this one factor.

In fact, other than Hawaii, I can’t find any other state in this country with the natural weather advantage that California affords.

Unless the Dakota man-made advantage far outweighs the man-made problems of California, I don’t see how Dakota’s natural weather disadvantage can encourage people to migrate to their part of the world.

EDIT TO ADD : Maybe a Japan-like earthquake or two would change people’s minds ( God forbid )
