Meryl Streep is to acting what obama is to politics. She is so over the top that even SHE can’t see where the scenery she chewed up is left behind.

Her use of “deftness” is to wield an axe where a small dagger is needed.

Agree with you on Deer Hunter. I thought, “man this guy needs to learn how to edit,” so I essentially saw Heaven’s Gate coming. Ironically, I actually liked Heaven’s Gate.

I’ve tried watching “American Beauty” a couple of times. I don’t get it. It’s boring and the characters are not appealing.
