It was a great recap of what happened, and the special effects made it work. Very good acting from all the characters, and I’m no big Di Caprio fan either, but he did a very good job. The nemesis guy, he was AWESOME, you could just see/feel his arrogant east coast money bs like it was real. The tragic fate of the people, you can feel it. I also liked how they tied modern times, and retraced the history through the gal in the movie. It really, truly was believable, and a good romance. The movie compelled people, and brought the Titanic back into the modern age for discussion and thought. After the movie, there are now some very incredible websites that have the entire passenger list accounted for, with biographies etc.
It would have been a better movie had they done it more from the perspective of the crew, instead of turning it into a chick flick.
The “romance” was very unbelievable. A girl in high society flipping her elders the proverbial bird and rushing about with a young rogue she barely knows?
Now, as an elderly woman, her most treasured memories are of a fling she had with a boy for a few days? She’s married, had children, and grandchildren, but yet when she “passes”, she’s not reunited with her late husband, but with her lover of four days.
