A CT scan has been carried out on the mummified skull of a former Archbishop of Canterbury who was beheaded in 1381.

Who will rid me of this troublesome priest?
And they did. They did him in right at the alter. Clove his head right nearly in two.
The King swore he had nothing to do with it. Ya right!

Here’s another one - Archbishop of Canterbury Thomas Cranmer got burned at the stake in 1527.
Thomas a Becket was murdered as he was saying Mass by the knights or guards of the King who said in a fit of frustration, about his ol pal before the change in Thomas, “ Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest!” The king, Henry, did not actually intend for the knights to actually murder this man and as a result did penance for it wearing sack cloth. The feast of St Thomas a Becket is 29 Dec.
The peasants are revolting.

I'm glad we put that to rest.
It was buried in the details.
He also could have insisted Mary was legitimate, as children of an annulled marriage are considered legitimate, or children from a divorced marriage are legitimate. But no, he backed the king and let her live in poverty with her mom...
