Been using Netflix for 4-5 years now. Love the older movies, TV shows, and different stuff you just can’t get easily. I hardly ever rent the new movies.

Bookmarked. I have been collecting old TV shows and movies at film festivals for 25 years, first on VHS and now DVD. Stuff you just can’t get anywhere else.

Not big on watching on the internet unless I could burn to DVD, but I am getting a BluRay soon and will be able to stream directly to TV,

Only newer TV shows I watch, I buy or rent of Netflix after they have been on awhile. Someone recommends one, and I try it out on Netflix. If I like it, I keep renting or buy the DVD’s. Not too many newer shows I watch.

>>>BTW, I’m the same way with cooking shows. I can’t stand all the reality crap that’s taken over Food Network. Give me the likes of The Galloping Gourmet and Justin Wilson anyday!

Check out the Cooking Channel. It’s what the Food Network used to be before they thought they had to run all the freakin’ competitions & challenges. And yeah, they run Julia & G.G.

When I was in college, my fellow classmates would sit in the dorm lounge and watch MTV videos all afternoon. I’d go off to class...they were watching the videos. I’d come back two hours later...same people were watching the videos.

Oh, you mean the channel that shows wrestling.

Nahhh. SyFy is the Ghost channel! And the Ghost International channel!

Even the Science Fiction that they do put out like Stargate Universe and Caprica is garbage. Thank god they finally cancelled them. I've been a Science Fiction fan for about 40 years now and I can't stand to watch this garbage. In 2-3 short years, Sci-Fi channel has gone from being my #1 cable watcher to about #95 or less.

I don't have any idea what the network execs are thinking, but you'd think that their sponsors would pull their sponsorship for the downhill plunge of viewership over the last few years.

I don't watch the crap and I don't plan to start again in the future. Thank heavens for the DVR. Record anything and not have to watch the trash commercials.

LONG DIE SYFY!!

stronger less feminine female characters.

yeah, I tend to think of them as men with TI** and not watch them.

I don't mind a little fantasy on tv but I got really turned off with Jolie in Lara Croft holding a dagger and 12 ninjas coming at her with machine guns and she comes out on top. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuure.

MTM used to be on Nick at Night or TV Land a few years ago, and I loved it. I wish they could bring back Murder She Wrote or Magnum PI. They are like comfort food.

I also wish that CBS had the guts to show As the World Turns or Guilding Light from its inception. People watched that for the last 10 years, and were not here to see its early inception. For shows that started 50 years ago, and some of the original cast was on, it would be neat to see how times change and social issues. I love the black and white. I bet they don’t have to pay residuals, and it would cost them nothing to run it. I would love to see them from day 1!

First time I had heard of it till today great movie and loved the two weird girls in it of course grannies now. Wasn’t one of them a regular on Dragnet.
I would bet the DVD is a lot better quality than on the web the one I watched had a couple of bad spots in it but very watchable.

Actually for 35% of Americans who don’t work and have no plans to do so it’s a chance for them to see what employment looks like.

Actually, Jill Banner who played Virginia (the girl with the spider fetish) died in a car accident (hit by a drunk truck driver) in 1982 at the age of 35.

If you were in college during the 80’s (Especially the early 80’s) the MTV video novelty hadn’t worn off yet. Even fairly early on, MTV had it’s game show, ‘Remote Control’ and genre specific shows like ‘Headbanger’s Ball’ and ‘Yo MTV Raps’ and by the 90’s, they had an ‘Unplugged’ event practically every week along with shows that incorporated personalities and events into the video watching ‘Totally Pauly’ and ‘MTV’s Beach House.’ What I’m saying is that they were doing things even early on to keep the attention of viewers. They had to show things other than videos and they had to package the video watching into larger programs.
