Why should your mother-in-law stop teaching? If your going to use “decades ago” comments...then remember that teachers then continued to teach thru thier old age. The teachers today want to stop working in time to “enjoy” life at a younger age. Guess what...there is nothing biblical about re-tiring from working.

My mother-in-law (who I call Mom since my own mothers death five years ago) is almost 70 and still teaching despite numerous health problems that have come up for her. What’s this “younger age” she is supposedly wanting to retire at?
