Congrats. Youve just (re)invented Obamacare.
If you do not feel like you have to pay for the damages you cause when you make mistakes while you drive, then you can always choose to not drive. Comparing this with 0bamacare, which only exempts you if you die, is stupid.
I am not forcing you to pay what you pay for insurance.
I'm not forcing anyone to pay anything for insurance either, but your belief that you should not have to have a way to pay for the damages you cause to others if you were to cause an accident is even more dangerous than my belief that the best way to fight the ever increasing cost of traffic violations is to simply not incur them.
Because once again, you have no idea whats going on in the car behind you. It isnt your business!
And you have no idea what is going on the car in front of you. Maybe the person driving cannot afford to incur tons of traffic tickets or pay the extra insurance costs that are associated with them.
I paid for the roads with my taxes too. It is not your job to set the speed limits. And I cant believe that your little philosophy of keeping people safe overrides all other concerns ...
Did I mention safety? No. My only concern was not getting traffic tickets. Besides, if someone is barreling down my rear end at 50mph in a 30mph zone then perhaps they deserve to get a ticket or two.
You didnt even acknowledge the previous situation with my wifes daughter. Why is that?
If that situation is so dire, would you really choose to be stuck behind a slowpoke, or would you take the chance and find a way to either illegally pass on the left, or drive down the grass on the right?
Drive with the flow of traffic if you really want us to be safe.
Once the government stops punishing people for doing that, I will.
“If you do not feel like you have to pay for the damages you cause when you make mistakes while you drive, then you can always choose to not drive. “
I DO. I have insurance, and I understand that my rates are affected by what others do, including yourself, when you drive too slow and cause accidents. It’s better than the other option of not having insurance.
“And you have no idea what is going on the car in front of you. Maybe the person driving cannot afford to incur tons of traffic tickets or pay the extra insurance costs that are associated with them.”
Yeah, and you won’t get a ticket for yielding to traffic that moves the speed limit. This is the intent of the law, and why they make “Slower traffic keep right” signs.
“If that situation is so dire, would you really choose to be stuck behind a slowpoke, or would you take the chance and find a way to either illegally pass on the left, or drive down the grass on the right?”
That’s my point. So, you want me to take my life in my hands and make an illegal pass because you’re too stubborn to yield to traffic moving at the legal speed limit? You could move over and let me pass and neither of us would have to break a law. Obviously, if you’re driving 5 mph under the speed limit, you’re not in a hurry.
Like I said, your actions would be considered rude if you were waiting in line at a business, but once you get in your car, all bets are off.
