The fact that the tombs predate islam creates a problem due to the fact that islam wants to pretend that nothing predates islam. (Same reason the antiquities of Egypt are going to suffer on coming years)

If the tombs didn’t pre-date Islam, I’d assume they were tombs of all the people that Mohammed (piss be upon him) beheaded.

Of course, the implication here is that Fundamentalist Christians can’t be interested in archaeology. They can’t handle it when factual evidence is in dispute with their beliefs, apparently.
