As much as we love and respect the founding fathers, it doesn’t help the conversation to bestow deity status upon them. Sheesh. It’s like that one sentence was written by God himself all the sudden instead of a slave-owning adulterer.
Of course, in today’s world, many well-known conservative voices seem to confuse the Puritans with the founding fathers too.
Let alone confusing the founding fathers with a thread about the evolution of snakes.
Free Republic is a wacky place sometimes.
Typical of the left. Must tear down the founders to your level so you can reject the timeless self-evident truth they espoused, upon which we base our republic and our claim to liberty.
-- Instructions of Malden, Massachusetts, for a Declaration of Independence, May 27, 1776
I know. Unless you subscribe to their narrow-minded, self-indulgent dogmatic spin and no other, you are a "heretic", leftist, liberal, RINO, etc.
What is ironic is that the Founding Fathers were quite liberal in their views, and very open to diverse opinions and beliefs, and followers of live and let live philosophy of freedom from "official truth".
Let alone confusing the founding fathers with a thread about the evolution of snakes.
Doesn't seem to take much for some to steer off the subject. I think they visit any forum just so they can badger others who don't agree with them.
Whattajoke, you are a drone. Jefferson’s wife DIED, and he grew up in a family which owned slaves. There is ZERO evidece that Sally Hemmings was impregnated by Thomas rather than Randolph, who spent the summer on Thomas’ estate. There were EIGHT Jefferson men, one of whom was the father. That is all that can be said definitively. The accusation against Thomas came about to deflect the outrage against serial adulterer and rapist Bill Clinton.
Go vote for B.O. Punk again. Stab your chilren in the back, Pal. Bob
