In 2004, NASA scientists announced that there was a chance that Apophis, an asteroid larger than two football fields, could smash into Earth in 2029. A few additional observations and some number-crunching later, astronomers noted that the chance of the planet-killer hitting Earth in 2029 was nearly zilch.
Now, reports out of Russia say that scientists there estimate Apophis will collide with Earth on April 13, 2036. These reports conflict on the probability of such a doomsday event, but the question remains: How scared should we be?

Me too, but...
"Mind that bus!"
"What bus?"
*splat*
...won't rack up enough medical bills to wipe out your insurance and foreclose your house.
Their mission is now Muslim reachout!
If that’s the case I’m takin some wippersnappers with me.
It doesn’t matter anyway.
Scientists already stated in the 1990s that we only had 10 years before climate change was irreversible and would kill us all.
Hmm, that's quite a coincidence...
The funny thing is that SG1 stopped an asteroid that Apophis set on a collision course with Earth. They enveloped it in the hyper field of a Goa’uld cargo ship so it passed harmlessly through the planet.
The Book of Revelation: basically, it’s World of Warcraft for fundamentalist Christians.
It would be a shame if such a city-killer fell on Mecca.
Amen! That’s why I’m not worried in any of this...When the Holy Ghost leaves- I will be taken up!
Not scared at all as we will all be gone on 12/22/12.....

I’ll be 50. I guess that’s as good of an age as any to die by asteroid.
I’m 63 NOW..I hope to be alive then to get killed then..
Oh jeez. Wrong button. I’ll be 60 and retired. Come and get me, asteroid!
‘Tis thought the king is dead; we will not stay.
The bay-trees in our country are all wither’d
And meteors fright the fixed stars of heaven;
The pale-faced moon looks bloody on the earth
And lean-look’d prophets whisper fearful change;
Rich men look sad and ruffians dance and leap,
The one in fear to lose what they enjoy,
The other to enjoy by rage and war:
These signs forerun the death or fall of kings.
Farewell: our countrymen are gone and fled,
As well assured Richard their king is dead.

“Richard II”
93, if I make it. Mom passed at 95, but dad only made 73 (smoker).
By my count SG-1 killed Apophis at least three times:
Once in the alternate universe that the second Dr. Carter and Major Kawalsky came from, and twice in the regular SG-1 universe.
Plus, Baal killed him in the alternate timeline created during Stargate Continuum.
All right, I’ll reveal my nerdness...
Apophis was rejuvenated via a sarcophagus, and turned over to his fellow gouldies to be tortured to death forever.
Now, I haven’t watched any of the follow-on movies. Does he turn up again?
/I don’t care about him. Yu was the coolest.

The “Day of Destruction” is not known to any man, neither Jesus Christ. (Loosely translated.) I read that somewhere.
Seems to me, in view of that, speculation is totally useless.
I’ll just go on about my daily business, thankyouverymuch.
