I'm curious what people though in general of the Superbowl ads. Do you have a favorite. Did you like them?
Yeah, that one was kinda clever. It was funny.
The best thing for many of the companies that dumped this crop of vulgarity on us is that the ads were so ineffective you can’t remember the product.
The game was the only good part of the Super Bowl show.
Everything else stunk the place up.
Darth Vader kid was cool - and showed the father in a positive light (for a change).
All the commercials may be viewed here:

The fantasy Coke ad early in the game - the one with the dragon - was terrific.
I have a slight modification: There was a piece during the 5 hour pre-game show in which they had many people reading lines and phrases from the Unanimous Declaration (commonly known as the Declaration of Independence).
That was great.
I did like the Audi and the Darth Vader kid commercial. Though the GM and especially the Eminnem Detroit Chrysler 200 commercials sucked. I see most people think the American public are fools.
Loved the Darth Vader ad, and the Bud Light Product Placement. Was disappointed that Bud didn’t have an ad starring the Clydesdales, which was always one of the best. And I was disappointed in E-Trade baby, which is often good.
And maybe it’s cause I’m a g-irl, but the GoDaddy ads just...no. Ditto for the Doritos licking guy and baby into the plate glass window.
Too much homosexual agenda.
Along with that the ending had the feel of a UAW thug pointing his finger at us saying “buy our car...or else”.
That doritos commercial was disturbing on several levels, esp. with the effeminate character licking and sniffing.
Good thing the game was good.
The ads were way below par.
The halftime show was the worst ever.
But to answer your question:
Darth Vader ad was cute. Career Builder ad (the monkees) was good. Neither were remarkable, but these were the best.
The ad was beautifully done. Put me in mind of Leni Riefenstahl’s work. Go figger :)
The best commercial of all was where they had an arrogant white guy posing as a journalists interviewing a socialist posing as President of the U.S. It was humorous and could have been insulting if it wasn’t an obvious parody.
I thought so too. Very entertaining ad...I was waiting for the punch line, and it was perfect...”Epic.”
What the hell was that commercial about where a black man and woman threw something at each other . . . the black girl ducked . . . and the white girl sitting next to them got hit in the face . . . whereupon the two black people, instead of apologizing, got up and ran away. Is this how far we’ve come with race relations? And what if the races of the people in the commercial were reversed?
And the commercial with numerous men getting hit in the crotch with various items . . . Why is that funny? When are they going to do commercials where women get hit in their private parts, huh??????
Did Fox have a hard time selling the ad time? I noticed there were an awful lot of Fox programming ads. Said to me they were down on revenue producers.
I wasn’t much impressed...but I did like the Bud light “kitchen makeover” one....
After seeing that ad, I turned to my wife and said, “There are some things in life you just can’t spin, and Detroit is one of them!”
She just kind of smiled.
Basically, a very disappointing lot of ads, a disappointing halftime show (which we basically ignored), and a national anthem whose high point (!) was wondering how long she’d hold the word “brave”.
The Puppy Bowl was much better, and didn’t disappoint at all. Loved that CB (MVP!).
CA....
