I am not partial to this style of “music. “
Remember when lead singers could sing?
I’ve had the TV on mute since before the half ended. I did not want to hear any more Joe Buck.
Louis Armstrong quoted Jack Teagarden as saying that there aren’t but two kinds of music: good music and bad music! What’s the demographic that the NFL is trying to reach? I routinely avoid the half-time shows because of the bad music! The pre-game shows as well because of their multi-cultural idiocy!
The only thing good about it was watching Slash, but you could barely hear his guitar. The woman ‘vocalist’ SUCKED!
STUPID, BORING, DUMB, EMBARRASING, LAME, and now a big plug for our 3rd world African king of a president. The great American tradition of the Super Bowl has hit it’s first big low. The black eyed peas, AND obama,....S U C K!!!!!!!
The black eyed peas are great.. The audio was bad, that’s all.
Stop being so negative ... It’s not your style music... Doesn’t make them bad.
Contrary to some opinions, “The Day The Music Died” was not 1959, but sometime after 1989.
Fergie can’t sing...
Huh? How old are you people, 90-ish? Were the Rolling Stones better last year (or whenever that was?) Are you kidding? Who doesn’t love the song “Got a Feelin”?”
I kind of liked the plastic hairdo thingie.
That halftime show was SO boring. I actually fell asleep during it. I haven’t seen such horrible lip syncing in a really long time
Maybe these ‘peas’ should have belted out this bilge before the ‘Bloviator/’Bama interview earlier...might have made more sense...
Just awful. Yes I understand it’s not my style of “music”, but they don’t even PLAY any music! Not one instrument on the whole stage. Not only that, most of the songs weren’t even theirs (probably a good thing).
Slash (to himself): “WTF was I thinking?”
I would have preferred a baby crying into a megaphone attached to my ear than that halftime show.
Pretty weak to use gutter language to decry lowbrow entertainment.
man you are right. I called my wife and kids to see this spectacle. what a travesty.
This looked like a cheesy 1980’s film depicting what music would be like in 2011 with the neon electronic clothing and whatnot. That poor man trying to sing was just shouting with the auto-tuner giving a vague sense of tone. The “song” seemed to be just shouting inanities like “turn up the volume” and “pu, pu, pu party”. Maybe I’m olden now, but I don’t get it. Bring on Led Zep doing the “immigrant song” next year.
Watched only a portion of the “show”. It needs to be added to Thomas Boswell’s “99 Reasons why Baseball is Better Than Football”.
The commercials suck, too. I was only merely disappointed with the Budweiser one but the rest of them have been downright terrible. I’d fire the ad teams.
