For those of us having to live with pain. I have also been living with daily pain for 2yrs. from back surgery. I’m bringing this up now, as I’ve finally found a good amount of relief. I would like to share it with you, so perhaps it could help you all. I take a pill called Gabapentin 300mg once a day for nerve damage. I ALSO have been going to water therapy, twice a week for almost 6 weeks. The pool is heated and is salt water, with some chlorine. The therapist gives you exercise’s they feel good for you.
It is really helping alot. One day I went to the dentist. I pushed the elevator button-nothing! I went, Oh S ! I’m going to have to walk the stairs. Mind you, it was only to the second floor, but best guess, there were about 50 steps, if not more AND I did it with NO pain. I couldn’t walk up stairs for over two years, at least. I can’t tell you how excited I was and still am that I’ve some relief. My doctor said when ordering water therapy that it cannot hurt. And it doesn’t!! Look at it like a another possible option to look into. I would be thrilled if this could help ALL! God Bless!!
Thanks for the info. I was prescribed Gabapentin prior to surgery to deal with the nerve pain in my leg.
Having to wait for year for surgery, damage was done, and I’m still limping with a weakened R leg. GRRRRR
Thank God for your improvement tiapam!
For those not in pain, water aerobics are wonderful for...well...just because! Less pressure on the joints and feels so good! Any exercise you do on land, you can do in water. I did them for about 5 years and it was well worth it!
I do a lot of my lower back/feet exercises in the hot tub. And it makes them easier.
IF the doc and PT guys actually worked on the whole spine not just one area at a time it would be better for me. But they don’t. Mine is spread from C4-7, 2 T’s and L4-5 and now going into the SA joint. So when they work on one area, they inflame the other areas. Nor do they take into account the Fibromyalgia.
I am one of those who cannot tolerate a lot of medications because of their extreme side effects. Never heard of Gabapentin. Mostly I use 8 hr Tylenol and a 5 mg of Valium to lower the pain level when it gets bad, when it gets real bad I reach for the Loretabs and the anti-puke med, can’t take one with out the other.
