Unrelated but true Amish story....we were driving through Amish country this past weekend (might actually be Mennonite, not sure of the differences). We had to slow down to pass a couple of wagons, but we were mostly able to do 55mph on the country road.

Out of nowhere, a bird just nailed our windshield with a thud. My 14yo burst into tears for several minutes out of shock and general sympathy for the bird. I tried to console my daughter by telling her that since the bird was in Amish country, he figured he had plenty of time to cross the street when he saw us coming.

....

at least I thought it was funny.
