Am I the only one having problems connecting to Free Republic today?
I am!!!!!There was one day this week I couldn't even get in. It's been extremly slow the last two or three days. I was going to donate my dues but got so disgusted I decided to wait. Got to hand it to DU, they are never slow. I know, I know, I just go there to see what Bush is being blamed for that day.
Ditto-same problem here.
Probably the reason for so many duplicate and triplicate posts. Frustration waiting for the reply to post. Hope this turns out to be a single reply.
Very slow, Has been all day.
Question for some of the other older guys. Which technique are you using to remember what it was you were going to write about when the reply box finally comes up? LOL!
Something may be up....
But, at least Free Republic isnt down!

That’s True.
Obama could sprout horns and declare he “is the antiChrist” and we would be unable to document it on FR.
Just today we narrowly got this Giffords maniac documented as a liberal before they scrubbed the web of his postings.
It is beyond frustrating. It has become the norm.
I recall when this was a fast paced website.
The dhs and the state controlled media are hard at work trying to dig up Jared’s postings on FR.
“FR has become like the old friend that keeps messing up. You wonder how much longer you can stand the behavior.”
I’m surprised you haven’t been flamed yet.
FR has been having performance issues for about the last month.
I think the extra attention due to the situation in Tuscon is making it even worse.
Kind of too bad, since the Left is trying to make it seem that the whacko is a Tea Party guy when the objective facts make it clear he is a Left-wing commie who wanted revenge for the Congresswoman voting against his left-wing agenda.
I hope John gets it going back to normal mode soon.
And that reminds me — time to donate (and JR has NEVER held performance as an incentive!).
Last night, Jim wrote,
I have no idea. Last time it was a problem in the database. The time before that a server fried. More than once its been DOS attacks. This one looks like some sort of logjam.
Im sure John will get it cleared up eventually, but this is a huge complex multi-server, multi-user system with lots of hardware and software that all has to mesh perfectly to work at maximum performance levels.
Somethings always going to snap. Never know when or what or if its natural or DOS. Lots of people hate us and would love to see us go belly-up.
War is hell. So are computer systems. If it can go wrong it will.
FREEPERS ROCK!!!
WE ARE STILL ONLINE!!!
I think Greg West and his Mormon warriors have launched their attack!
:p
Slow like molasses in January, running up a hill covered in ice.
Its slow at my home connection, and sometimes at the office.
No other websites are slow (home or office),
so it must be server related.
I’m running mozilla and usually have 6 or 8 web pages open.
All others respond quickly, not free republic.
Bummer.....
Is FR back on the 2400 baud modems?
It's been like this on and off since just before the elections. Election night was horrible.
I love Free Republic and have been a monthly donor for a long time. I'm getting very frustrated with the unreliability and started going to other websites to get breaking news. You can't get it here anymore.
I do not know if you guys know about The Yahoo freerepublic2 ??
It is a place to go to find out what is going on if you have trouble posting etc..
You will have to join Yahoo to join FR2
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/freerepublic2/
No. Everything is perfectly normal.
That this has happened during all the last Freepathons of recent memory is just.....
[ZOT]
Aeeeeiiiiiiii!!!.....
How does Amazon.com cope?
With millions of dollars.
