OKLAHOMA CITY -- A Christian group said Monday night it believes the end of the world is on May 21, 2011.
Tom Evans, the group's spokesman, said he believes Harold Camping -- the president of Family Stations, Inc. -- has mathematically computed judgment day based on signs from the Bible.
"We believe that God has built into the Bible a timetable of events," Evans said.
The group has put up a website, familyradio.com, to make its prediction known.
Evans said the group has started a national movement to let people prepare for the end of the world. In Oklahoma City, a billboard paid for by the group reads "Noah knew."
"It took Noah 120 years to build the ark, and during that time Noah was telling everyone God is going to bring a flood. Only eight people survived the flood," Evans said.

The MSM loves these stories—yet another chance to portray Christians as kooks.
Group Guarantees May 21 Judgment Day
if it don’t happen do we get a refund or sumpin?
They’re gonna look so stupid the next day.
His kids were terrified, his wife almost left him and he has since said Camping is a false prophet. The B I L is still going out and handing out tracts as often as possible and his wife and her family essentially ignore him
The youngest will be entering college in the fall. I suspect the SIL will separate from him before the last kid finishes college
if that’s what they believe, I need a lawyer to write up a deed guaranteeing me ALL their worldly goods on May 22!
Just from memory: “as it was in the days of Noah.......”
“....in the hour ye think not........”
Actually, He (the Lord) could come tonight, or tomorrow, or a year from now.....no man knows!!!!!!!!!
But we can rest assured, He is coming, first for His own, that is the church, then later He will return with His saints to reign upon the earth for a 1,000 years.
Remember in John chapter 14, Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go to prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto Myself.”
Rats. After the April 15th. deadline to pay taxes. Maybe I can get an extension until June.
MSNBC will be all over this one.
Must be the church of Nostradumbass.
he is the false prophet who said there were 88 reasons in 88
then 89 in 89
“..... the group has started a national movement to let people prepare for the end of the world.”
I wonder just WHAT they are doing to “prepare?” The only thing one can REALLY do is to get right with God. Romans 3:10, 3:23, 6:23, 5:8 and 10:9, 10 & 13.
The “End of the World” is a misnomer. The next big event on God’s calendar is the Rapture, coinciding in some manner and to some degree with the Great Tribulation. The END of this sphere as we know it does not take place for 1,000 years after that.
Just visited their website. They’re saying THE BIBLE GUARANTEES that May 21, 2011 is the day! Now I KNOW they’ve “gone round the bend” as the Brits used to say!
All I really know that the Bible guarantees is that anyone who has put their faith in Christ, is GUARANTEED forgiveness of sins and a future with the Creator and Savior. As to a departure date, I have no idea. Anyone wishing to READ the GUARANTEE I mentioned can read it for themselves. The entire chapter of Romans 8.
He replied: Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, I am he, and, The time is near. Do not follow them.” Luke 21:8
The same way all of the other nutty end of world groups have done when their deadlines came and went — by slinking off into oblivion....
That’s only one interpretation of Revelation, but regardless the important point is that NO ONE knows - and even those foolish enough to believe they have managed to figure it out in their not-so-infinite wisdom - need to bow the knee and acknowledge that “the secret things belong to God” and the date of His return is one of them.
Senile ole’ Camping is still alive is he? It would be more productive for himself, and less damaging to others, if he’d stick to preparing for his own end time - which can’t be far away.
