Campbell's Soup Rant (angry vanity)
Me | Jan1, 2011 | DJMacWoW

Posted on 01/01/2011 10:36:34 AM PST by DJ MacWoW

My husband bought me some of my favorite soup, Campbell's Cream of Potato. My mouth got all ready and I sipped the first spoon. I spit it back in the bowl. It tasted TERRIBLE! I thought it was spoiled. Nope. Now! With Sea Salt Added! If I wanted sea salt I'd go float in the ocean!

I just discovered that they've done the same to Vegetarian Vegetable. No more Campbell's soup for me. And I wrote them to tell them where they can stick their sea salt! I don't buy Healthy Choice soups because they taste awful. So they are now going to force their idea of healthy on consumers? The left is taking over everything and forcing their ideas on us. I'm really angry. They stick their nose in every aspect of our lives.

I guess I'll just have to make my own.

:) :) :) That was too darned funny. No, it doesn’t taste right. I agree!!! How can one compare food in a box that sits on a shelf to food that is homemade with love and fills the whole house with such wonderful aromas????? Sure it takes time to cut the onions or peel potatoes, or stir or whatever...but that’s the whole idea of homemade. It takes time and anything worth having TAKES TIME. :) Happy Eating. :)

I’m still pretty burned up they stopped making “Screaming Yellow Zonkers” a couple of years ago.

I would kill for those little frozen doughnuts from Morton's.

No, it was Campbell's soups. It was discussed on several celiac forums. I didn't bookmark the discussions, but if I run across them I'll let you know. There used to be 2 soups - the Bean with Bacon and the Chicken Cheese Brocolli which were stated to be gluten-free, but I could never tolerate either of them - and at some point Campbell's suddenly removed BOTH of them from their gluten-free list. That's pretty pathetic that a HUGE established food company marketed something as gluten-free when it was NOT. If I run across the discussion threads about this, I'll post links to them. Meantime, this tiny synopsis was easy to retrieve at google: Dec 14 2010 Use Campbell's Soup Recipes with Gluten-free Soups Written by Tiffany Janes / Published in Celiac Disease, Foods & Products, Gluten Free Diet, Gluten Free Recipes, Groceries In the U.S., none of the soups from Campbell's are considered gluten-free – not even the ones the company said were gluten-free five years ago. In Canada, some of the soups from the line are gluten-free (click here for the list), but we're out of luck down here. Actually, two Wolfgang Puck soups are now listed as gluten-free on the Campbell's U.S. list...... http://celiac-disease.com/use-campbells-soup-recipes-with-gluten-free-soups/

No stinker here. Just disappointed to find a conservative who has no idea how the free market works.

I see nowhere in your post that someone put a gun against your head and made you purchase the soup. You are free to purchase it or not. And Campbell’s Soup is free to offer whatever products they wish. And like all business they live and die by the choices consumers make.

I am willing to bet you can find a soup you like without wasting the bandwidth and server space took up.

In all honesty it involves severe stomach cramps and half the night in the bathroom. VERY unpleasant.

What a shame that you’d rather complain than read the excellent recipes posted and enjoy some of the humor. Have a nice day!

I do not like Campbells soup. That is not real soup.

Here is how we make soup:

We roast a large turkey with herb stuffing. The larger, the better. Stuffing is made with broth - not water.

After cutting away the white breast meat and some of the dark meat (for sandwiches), we put the rest of the turkey into a stockpot and boil. Then we debone.

Over the few days, we eat homemade turky soap with carrots, potatos, and some pasta thrown in.

This is good soup.

It sounds like good soup!

My grandparents ground up turkey and made patties to fry. I loved them but have no idea what they put in them, darn it!
