I'm afraid Seattle's reputation as a fair-weather sports city is well-deserved. I have no idea what's up with Seahawks fans, other than that they're a fickle and miserable lot. It's unfathomable to me how so many Seahawks fans could be unhappy with the fact that--against all preseason expectations--we are playing for the NFC West crown in the final regular season game. I hear a lot of whining about how the national sports media will make fun of us for going into the playoffs with a losing record, and it seems to me a particularly pansyish thing to be concerned about.
useful tiebreakers (accurate IF the teams actually end in tie after this final week)
NFC
NO over CHI (conference record)
CHI over ATL (must be common games)
NO over ATL (Division record)
CHI over PHIL (head to head)
GB over NYG over TB (common games and S.O.V.)
SEA over STL (Division record)
AFC
PITT over BALT (division record)
NYJ over PITT (head to head)
BALT over NYJ (head to head)
JAX over IND (division record)
IND over KC (head to head)
GB-NYG-TB details:
common:
GB 2-3 lose ATL
TB 2-3 lose DET (WA SF)
NYG 4-0-1 VS. TB 4-1 COMMON
CAR WA DET SEA
NYG VS. GB UNCOMMON
GB: SF ATL 1-1
NY 2-0
GB HAS CLINCHED COMMON over NYG
NY-GB-TB (3-way tie) HAS ONLY 3 COMMON, goes to S.O.V., GB has a lock on it.
wildcard round:
NFC:
GB or NYG or TB #6 at PHIL#3
NO/ATL#5 at STL/SEA#4
AFC:
NYJ/PITT#6 @ KC/IND#3
NYJ/BALT/PITT#5 @ KC/IND/JAX#4
I don’t see how NO has division tiebreaker over ATL...they’re both 4-1 with the losses against each other...with each having 1 division game to go. Conference record is the same too.
if they finish in a tie, NO would be 5-1 and ATL would be 4-2.
Perdogg, In Hartford area, we are getting 4 day games on SUN:
New England 1pm
Tampa Bay 1pm
Giants 4pm
IND Colts 4pm
must be the same in New York area, except NYJ replaces Pats.
Derp on my part.
