For many people, Christmas is a time for celebration. It is a time of parties, gift giving, reunions, food and vacationing.
Christmas is also a time of music, and there are countless songs that people enjoy during the holiday season. The music of the holiday season is something that unites people, as both religious and popular songs are enjoyed by a wide variety of people.
Of course, not all Christmas songs are universally enjoyed. Some tend to be a little more annoying than others and some are flat-out painful.
This may be due to the song itself, or it may be because it has simply been overplayed for so long that no one wants to hear it anymore. With that in mind, here are a few of the most annoying Christmas songs and why they are difficult to hear during the season.
Annoying Christmas Song No. 5: I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas
Liberace ... *shivers* ... you win!
I went to a Christmas Party last night and the DJ had the audacity to play that heinous Kenny G Duet with Satchmo “What a Wonderful World”, I wanted to go up and punch the DJ for playing that travesty.
AMEN!!!!!
The mere thought of a "Kenny G" Christmas compelled me to instantly seek out some good Christmas jazz. Also one of the great Christmas songs. Or, the same, by a more contemporary singer. At the risk of going all contrarian to the thread topic...
She kissed her tooth-
Brush by mistake
She thought it was
Her husband Jake
Simply having a wonderful Christmas time...
Or, Kliban songs
My cat is fat
And so I'll dine
And eat up all
This cat of mine
Simply having a wonderful Christmas time...
You’re right. It’s just not there for me.
But . . .
I wish you a Merry Christmas.
No song title pun intended.
I love “I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas”! I drive my family crazy every years when I blast it a few times a day.
One of my great nephews (he’s five) heard “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” and got really upset . . . he thought his grandma got creamed by a reindeer.

I shall exit this thread never to return for fear of my life
In your shoes I would change my screenname.
Ok, I get misty eyed from the hippo song. My teenager when he was 3 was in a performance to it, all preschoolers doing cute little moves completely out of sync with each other and as adorable as heck. So it brings that image back to me and I love it!
And Santa Baby is great too! It’s funny to hear a greedy sexy girl flirting with Santa. And it is also the absolute best c
Fountain song At the bellagio hotel. The way they design the fountains to that song is extremely funny!

I think this shows the problem - put your thoughts together. A sexy girl wanting to do Santa, the Bellagio putting together a show around it - and this has what to do with the real meaning of Christmas? Unfortunately there is way too much distraction from what Christmas is supposed to be about.
“Domenic the Christmas Donkey” Geez, I hate that song.
Every one of them drive me nuts after hearing them every year for 53 years!
Red Sovine’s “Faith in Santa” is absolutely the most depressing Christmas song, ever!

Gary Burbank, used to play it every year just before Christmas on 700 WLW.
Amazingly, the suicide rate in Cincinnati did not go up after this song was played on the radio, but it should have.
Gary Burbank was always funny and entertaining. I list any Christmas song by John Denver. But I like the 12 days of Rugby!!!!
