Thank You for that very informatave video. I watched all of them.

I have used coconut oil in the past and bought a 7 lb bucket of organic unrefined oil about a year ago. I will have to buy some more! I had read that it was supposed to help the liver. My main purpose for buying it was to help one of my dogs "Aladden" who has canine epilipsy and has to take phenobarbatal every day to help mitigate his seizures. It does work, but over time it can cause liver problems.

I also make sure he gets Milk Thistle added to his food every day for his liver. The organic unrefined coconut oil is a food grade oil and retains the aroma and flavor of coconut. You can buy coconut oil that does not have the aroma and flavor and it is just as good.

I am so glad you posted this thread - I had forgotten how good lard is for things BESIDES pie crust and biscuits.

I now have a line on local organic lard - and next time I make ghee, I'm going to make half of it a special mix for cooking: one half ghee to 1/4 lard and 1/4 coconut oil.

Hit all bases. ;o)
One of my sons has epilepsy - on dilantin. I'll have to send him the info on coconut butter...after he gets back from Italy - he's off to have Christmas with his son, (One of the “RESTREPO” Sky Soldiers) who just got back to base after his second long deployment in the ‘ghan.)

Back during THE War (WW11) - housewives (banned word now!) used half butter and half lard or olive oil - those lucky enough to have access to butter.

We had our own cows, so had it ‘straight.”

I have used milk thistle, off and on, for years. Can't go wrong.
