I agree, it is outstanding. The opening scene of the season finale at the hospital really shed light on the chaos of peak of the outbreak when things were falling apart. I was wondering at the end of the first episode, what happened between the shoot out on the highway and him waking up alone in the hospital bed.

Agreed and it really made Shane’s character more sympathetic.

I was a bit disappointed by the explosion scene, was way too unrealistic. That blast wave would have blown out windows, knocked the cars and rv over like nothing. But, the show is what it is, cheap fun thrills and entertainment. The second season got the green light, but might not be shown unti late next year.
