The atheist group behind last year's controversial bus ads suggesting "there's probably no God" is rolling out a provocative new set of posters on buses across the country that places Allah beside Bigfoot and Christ beside psychics.
The new posters bear the slogan: "Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence" with "Allah, Bigfoot, UFOs, Homeopathy, Zeus, Psychics, Christ" listed below.
They will hit Toronto streetcars in January, pending final approval from the Toronto Transit Commission, said Justin Trottier, national executive director of the Centre for Inquiry, an atheist organization. After the Toronto debut, the organization plans to post the ads to buses in Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa, Saskatoon and Montreal.
"Why is belief in Bigfoot dismissed as delusional while belief in Allah and Christ is respected and revered? All of these claims are equally extraordinary and demand critical examination," says the campaign's website, www.extraordinary-claims.com.
Trottier insists the ads weren't designed to offend religious Canadians.

Muslims should start blowing those buses up.... it says Allah too!
Let’s see if they stick to their guns when the Muslims start squawking.
Allah is Arabic for God. Christians praying in Arabic pray to Allah.
What a pathetic waste of money.
“Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence”
I agree. That’s why I don’t believe that people could evolve from bacteria just because some bacteria are resistant to some anti-biotics.
Allah is not our God. He is a false and Satanic ‘God’.
Don’t they believe Allah is the almighty creator?
God help you. There are other languages besides English. A Southern Baptist who speaks Arabic praying in his native language would pray to Allah just as a Spaniard would pray to Dios.
That’s right. Notice it doesn’t say Muhammand. Cowards.
And I love how the press plays this up as “controversy” as if anyone cares. While its obnoxious and bating, I don’t know many Christians who get worked up over these childish antics. Athiests who do this like to imagine that once the advertisements go up, Christians all over North America will start screaming in outrage. Without that fantasy, they’d have to face the reality that they are irrelevant to the debate.
If you think Muslims and Christians pray to the same God, you are the one who needs help.
I’m an atheist. I don’t believe in Zeus.
Why pick on Homeopathy? Isn’t that like refuting the medicinal value of chicken soup?
I guess Chicken Soup will be on the bus next.
Did you come up with that nonsense on your own?
I just have to wonder why the atheists are so evangelical about their beliefs. One of my atheist friends said he didn’t want people to be ignorant. My question: Why? What possible difference could that make to him? The truth is, he didn’t seem to be the least bit concerned with other people’s “ignorance” - at least not in that way. He just hated the thought that some of them believed in God.
No. The Arabic word for God is Allah. Christian Arabs pray to Allah when they pray in their own tongue.

I never said that. You’ve twisted my words.
It would be stupid to add Muhammad. Even an atheist will admit he existed. He was a historical figure.
Then I must have misunderstood your point.
I don't know Arabic, but I can tell you that in Turkish, Christians use the name "Tanrı." Only Muslims use "Allah".
