Someone did mention that the Baltic Dry Index was practically at zero. That means no international cargo ships carrying goods plying the oceans. That is highly abnormal, and a very bad sign in a global trade based economy.

The warnings on this have been coming for about a year.
Most of the financial advisors I subscribe to have web pages predicting a total failure of the credit system that have been up for a long time.
Coming soon to a savings account or checking account near and dear to your wallet.
Little an individual can do beyond buying metals. Anything paper is grossly suspect, regardless of what the angle is.
Walmart regards Amazon as its biggest rival, and has been pushing back. Amazon’s apparent advantage is its lack of a need to make money, kind of a shariah retailing model. ;’) But y’know, if Walmart catches a cold, the rest of brick and mortar retailing is about to die of pneumonia.
