Is it still impossible to get accurate statistics on this, as it was in Viet Nam?
My unit had 3 homos (as far as I know). Two of the 3 kept to themselves, bothered nobody. They were embarrassed by the 3rd. He would go through the tents in Pleiku, groping men in their beds as they were sleeping. He boasted of having had sex (both consensual and non-consenual) with high ranking officers who were afraid to say or do anything. But his accounts, even accounting for the exaggerations, were quite believable.
How is it possible to collect statistics on his activity? And do I know for sure that the quiet two really didnât bother anyone?

Yeah, an officer’s reputation would be destroyed if he were known as a male rape victim.
One day creeps like him will be recorded and broadcast on youtube. The trick is for someone to do it without getting caught. If he is recorded in an ideal location, then arguably a civilian might have recorded him. Legally safer.
