Sad news. This guy was a good all around actor. RIP Frank Drebin.

Yes, he will be missed, but all of these threads about his passing won’t. This is about the eighth one I’ve seen tonight.

One of my favorite all-time comedic actors. Thanks, Frank!

Nielsen is a part of FR lore, Airplane! has to be one of the most quoted movies here. I know. I very much enjoyed his work in the movies, too. But c'mon. Eight threads over the course of one evening? It's a bit much. One would suffice.

Sorry. I searched his name and did some rooting around on FR before posting. I thought I had the scoop.

I know that articles sometimes get posted multiple times, but this story has been posted way too many times for one night. That's the breaks in such a forum as ours where a celeb is so popular with many of us. I did not make a separate post but rather am commenting only here. My first exposure to Leslie Nielson was the 1956 movie Forbidden Planet. Anne Francis was the eye candy and the symbol of innocence; the great Walter Pidgeon presided as the accomplished albeit hubritic Dr Morbius. Nielson's most memorable quotes from that flick are "This is the Captain speaking" and "That is all."

I don't know anyone who didn't like Leslie Nielsen. The man was a gem of the comedy genre, and will be missed.

Heh....normally, I’m the last person to complain about duplicate postings. It’s often been the case that the first time I see a story, it’s already been posted a couple of times.
I just thought that so many postings of the Leslie Nielsen story in such a short period of time was just overkill. It’s not like folks aren’t going to see this on the news or hear it on radio all day tomorrow.
On the other hand, some news items that are posted here are so important, that it’s helpful when they’re posted multiple times.
That is all.
