DWTS Season 11 enters its eighth week of competition tonight (Nov 8) and thus, the Bristol Palin enigma continues.
'Bristol the Pistol' has taken aim & shot down better qualified & much more fiercely talented candidates in her quiet wake to win the coveted mirror ball trophy.
But the burning question remains: how does Palin continue to linger on the competition & stir the ire of many DWTS fans who view the show as a talent (not popularity) contest?
While continually scoring at or near the bottom of the Judge's leader board since the onset of Season 11, Palin has somehow beat out competitors who have outscored and outperformed her, i.e., Florence Henderson, Rick Fox, and even Mike The Situation Sorrentino who exited the show at Week 4.
But what is really at the crux of the Bristol Palin matter is not the fact that Palin continues to receive enough votes to stay on DWTS. That part is evident.
The real question is why & where those votes come from. That is, are those votes generated by Sarah Palin supporters, or are they cast because people really like Bristol?
Hopefully, it's because people truly like 'Alaska's Favorite Daughter', find her refreshing and just want to see her win because of who she is.

I like those Gala apples.
LOL....where do those things come from. It’s very annoying.
How is it possible that ABC allows that when they cut you off on the phone. I used to think they were strict about voting.
And wasn’t Brandy accused of hitting some woman in an accident and for a while they were going to prosecute her until they found out that it was the woman’s fault and not Brandy’s? I think the woman died.
I think he likes that she is not a big egomaniac like most of the “stars”. Some of these Stars were trying to tell the Professional dancers how to dance. Yikes.
I like Jennifer.
Lovely woman who seems genuine.
Really? I had no idea. I thought the prize was the disco ball and bragging rights.
They’re allowing that more than one person in your house is wanting to vote. So, same IP, but different email.
Right now he has nothing to complain about since he has a good partner. What if he had to teach someone who was totally inexperienced and had never danced a step?
LOL!!!
I think Brandy knows that Maks is a liability. She was trying to calm him down tonight.
The chemistry between some of them is off. Derek is a perfectionist. He likes to win and it looks like he is growing impatient with the Whiner.
Maks and Brandy were not a match at first. He is a real narcissist and a perfectionist too and is undoubtedly very hard to put up with in rehearsals.
But being a perfomer herself and wanting to win so badly, Brandy seems to be ignoring his insults and petulance.
Mark is a saint for putting up with Bristol’s immaturity and stupid comments, “I hate the quick step.” “I suck”, “This sucks”.
Anna doesn’t have alot of faith in Kurt..so nada chemistry there.
The fun ones are Kyle and the underrated Lacey! That’s why I voted for him tonight. Hmmm. I wonder if he voted for BO. If so, that will be a problem for me in the final vote casting.
Jennifer Grey gave birth to her child. She got pregnant while she was dating, and she and the father married.
LOL!!! Just reading thru and getting a lot of laughs tonight... I like Jennifer, but yes a bit of a whiney baby.
She’s playing the sympathy angle to the hilt. One minute she’s falling apart and two seconds away from the wheelchair and the next she’s doing amazing stretches and jumping up and down. It makes one wonder.
jeez you must be perfect.
Maks and Brandy were very antagonistic to each other. But they had the good sense to sit down and have a “let’s become friends” free time. They went out to dinner and really got to know each other and I think they really did have a breakthrough. Their dancing has been better ever since then.
What should she have said that was brilliant? “Oh, dear. The quick step is quite atrocious.” Ha.
Bruno, being light in the loafers, must not be a fan of Bristol and her pro life Mama.
