Here is a great time-saving research tool I just found yesterday, and the best part is it's FREE! From their website:

SerpAttacks is a free seo software that you can download. It has features like the most seo software out there that have more than 100 bucks price tag. With this free seo software you can, hunt real money generating keywords, discover products to promote, find available domains for your keyword, analyze your websites weak points so you can improve them, spy on competitors activities and beat them and more.

Check it out:

You made me think Frantzie was back. I kind of miss the lunatic rants about turning off the TV set on every thread that mentions television.

Wow, there’s a ton of typos in that. But you know what? I’m giving you a full pass on all of them because your list is so rock solid. Great info and thanks for compiling it.

Here’s a quick answer:

1. Get senSEO plug-in for FireFox
2. Get ySlow plug-in for FireFox
3. Sign up a Google’s Web Developers so you can submit site.
4. Sign up for the site to be included in Google’s web analytics. You’ll have to put some tags in your pages to verify with Google that it’s a real site. You will also submit an XML sitemap. (Do this for Bing, Yahoo, etc...)
5. Make SURE every page has a unique title and META tags for description and keywords. These words are what you think people would type in to search for whatever it is you’re selling.
6. Via senSEO you’ll learn that you MUST use all your key words in titles, and descriptions. It is a very good practice to use all keywords for each page in an H1 tag for that page. It is OK if you position this H1 tag behind another element or off the page (text-indent:-9999px).
7. Make sure all your keywords are in the copy of the page rendered. Try not to make them too “dense” as Google regards this as cheating. It is also good practice to use H2 and H3 tags in your pages. Google likey.
8. DO NOT use inline styles unless you have to. Sometimes when using jQuery you have to use style=”display:none;” for things to properly work.
9. Use ONE style sheet (consolidate as necessary)
10. Use ONE JS file.
11. Use a SPRITE for your site images if you can. Google likes lots of nice content with as few http calls as possible. I understand you can’t do this for image galleries and the like, but for your site’s core images it is the best practice, plus it increases the performance of your site.
12. Sign up at every free press release site you can find. If you fart, write an article. If you sneeze write an article and always remember to include a URL to your site.
13. GET OTHERS TO LINK TO YOUR SITE! THIS is how you build relevance.
14. Make a sitemap.html/jsp/asp page for your site and provide a link to it in your footer or sub-navigation on EVERY page.
15. If you can do it make sure all your content is IN-PAGE. Do not use JS for dynamic content (no document.write). You can use JS to turn things on and off or for AJAX.
16. Sign up with Yelp, Kudzoo, Twitter, FB, Google Places and any other social media you can stand.
17. Get a bit.ly account and use it for all your FB and Twitter postings. Make sure you ALWAYS link back to your site. Social media is a different animal, but in a nutshell you need to PARTICIPATE. Be natural and friendly with others (never argue in the name of your site/business). If you write pithy and succinct comments others will re-tweet or provide links on their FB postings to your stuff. For the above press releases make sure you link to them from your FB and Twitter accounts. BE COURTEOUS! If someone follows you/re-tweets, etc., try to reciprocate in some way. Learn about the @ and #(hash) tags on Twitter. When people respond to you make sure you use their handle with the @ for responses/thanks, etc. If someone follows you on Twitter - follow them back unless they have some sort of inappropriate content no suitable to your audience.

The best Google results are from ORGANIC relevance - not Adwords. Although Adwords help, nothing is better than organic rankings. All of the above positions you for organic rankings. Also remember you are most likely NEVER going to have the top organic ranking. If you do the above well you can get on the first page and perhaps “above the fold” if you’re real disciplined.

I also HIGHLY recommend a mobile experience for your users. This is a scaled down version of your content for smart phones/devices. Best practice is to have a detection script at the entrance of your site and ASK if the mobile user wants the mobile experience. Give them the choice.

And above all remember this: THE SITE IS NOT FOR YOU! IT IS FOR YOUR USERS! Just because YOU like it, doesn’t mean your users will.

I would just go to the Warrior Forum to find someone that provides a backlinking service. There is one guy there that offers to do backlinks for $99 and he'll get 5 keywords to the first page of Google, even high competition keywords. He has a ton of great reviews from those that have used his service, so it looks like he is the real deal.

My posts will ALWAYS have typos, nor do I care.

I’m quite old, type with one hand, the other being severely crippled with bad arthritis. I don’t correct typos when posting on boards. Don’t have that kind of time.
