"Just think if Wilke had won." Hmmmmmmm.... let's see...
- Suppose Willkie had not cut off Japan's raw material supplies.
Would the Japanese still have attacked Pearl Harbor?
Might they have attacked Russia instead?
- Or would Hitler's U-boats "accidentally" sink enough US ships to cause a declaration of war?
- Would Hitler have still declared war on the US?
- Could Willkie have cemented an alliance between the US, Britain and Stalin's Russia?
- Would Stalin have signed a separate peace with Hitler in, say 1942?
- And with Russia defeated, how much longer would even Churchill's Britain hold out against Hitler's onslaught?
- And without Russia or even Britain as solid allies, could the US still have gone all-out to win the war?
Answers: probably, but possibly not. Then where would we be?
