Vanity - Conservatives' first order of business after the election must be replacing John Boehner

Now that the election is over and the republicans have rode a tsunami of patriotic voter discontent into control of the House of Representatives, the first order of business for the new wave of conservatives and patriots should be to find a new leader for the loyal opposition in the House.

The battle may have been won friends, but the war is now just beginning. The House in the next congress is going to face enormous pressure from the combined forces of the still nominally democrat-controlled Senate, the dedicated Marxist Obama and the executive branch, and their staunch allies in the predominant leftist media.

To put it directly and bluntly, John Boehner simply does not have the charisma, the media savvy, the backbone, the conservative principles, or quite frankly the intellectual heft that is going to be necessary for this very difficult fight. He is and has always been a deal maker and an accommodator, which is the absolute last thing that America needs right now.

Obama has directly stated that the next two years would be "political hand-to-hand combat", and Boehner is not the man to lead conservatives in this most critical stage of the war. I would personally throw out the names of Mike Pence and Paul Ryan as just two men that can represent us far better. I would welcome other suggestions as well, but I hope that one of these two men will rise to the challenge and step up to the leadership mantle where he belongs.

He is exactly correct. More power to him. But from the outset they have to educate the public to the fact that if a shutdown comes it’s the President, not the House that is doing the shutting down! It’s been a decade plus, but we must not forget the lessons we should have learned when they let Clinton pin the blame on them for shutting down government.

Who was it recently (A Republican) that Rush completely took apart? Was it Boehner or Issa? I can’t recall who now, but Rush was steaming and I recall this same Senator on Hannity and he completely changed his tune since being read the riot act by Rush.

Sounds to me like you believe everything the Mouthpiece Media feeds you. Did you laugh when Obama called John Boehner a person of (unnatural) color?

John Boehner knows how to wrangle through the spaghetti bowl of rules in Congress. That is an absolute necessity to get anything done. Nasty Pelosi was quite accomplished in that regard. Now that Republicans are in the majority, Boehner won't be encumbered by Democratic caucus pressure.

Liberals succeed because the know how to present a unified front. They also know how easy it is to stir up infighting among the Republicans. (a good example is this very thread) He has earned his wings; now is the time to let him pilot the plane. (I promise to eat my words in a public way if Boehner turns out to be anything like a John McCain or Lindsey Graham.)

Now is NO time to break a new guy in on cloakroom strategeries and behind-the-scenes arm-twisting. Boehner is totally experienced in this job and is already on top of everything. He knows the strengths and weaknesses of everyone by now.

He needs no 'on the job training'....and this is good because things are gonna get real hot real quick!

Save the stars like Ryan, Bachman and Company for the public-face jobs.

We've got a great team and a deep bench right now. Each to what he knows and does best....Ryan for financial policy, for example.

Boehner’s done a tremendous job and deserves the credit. He’s proven and his whips will do wonders.

There will be compromise, that’s the nature of a republic, but we want it to be their compromise, not ours.

Let’s not create absurd expectations. We need to govern well and the voters will reward us.

First item on the agenda - jobs, which need stability to get them generated.
