Four years ago "24" actress Mary Lynn Rajskub was quoted as saying "I got into acting to avoid politics." Unlike most of her liberal colleagues, Miss Rajskub didn't discuss the subject and acted very accepting towards conservatives. The actress appeared on the Laura Ingraham Show and was photographed in Rush Limbaugh's studio.
Everything changed the moment Rush Limbaugh planted an innocent tiny kiss on her at 2006 Heritage Foundation Panel discussing the show 24.
Outrage was the reaction amongst her peers. Ex-boyfriend Duncan Trussell supposedly asked "when he kissed you did he suck out your soul and replace it with maggots?"
Talk show after talk show, people kept asking Rajskub if she was dating Limbaugh. The picture of Limbaugh kissing her was shown over and over again for several months.
And that's all it took for Rajskub to start distancing herself for accepting conservatives.
Over the past year on her twitter page, the actress has dissed Sarah Palin and claimed she "hates" the Tea Party. She claimed to "hate" Glenn Beck months after appearing on his show where he showed a big interest in her paintings and even displayed her work on his website. Rajskub made fun of Christine O'Donnell on Craig Ferguson's show just a few weeks ago.
In the past week, the actress started to complain that while she still liked America, she was sick and tired of all the "BS" going on in the country. Her political career was set to be lauched in 10 years.
And now the actress is demanding well all vote DEMOCRAT to make sure the country stays in the right direction. Link:

Rajskub's newfound political activism is hard to believe given her age (39), the number of years she spent dating leftists (David Cross, Jon Brion and Duncan Trussell). If a leftwinger like Cross wasn't enough to convert her to political activism, why start now all of a sudden?
Rajskub's transformation is very surprising given her entire fortune can be tied to conservatism. It was conservative producer Joel Surnow who wrote the role of Chloe for her. It was Surnow who fought the other producers to keep her on the show. And it was because of Surnow she became a a big enough household name to have her own standup comedy show. Without her conservative producer and big conservative fanbase, Ms. Rajskub would be a little known standup comedian.
I guess none of this matters now that she is unemployed. But will being another left wing activist (and hardly a believable one) really help her career when she will always be typecast as Chloe? It certainly won't endear her to the millions of fans who loved her on 24.
here are her political comments from twitter. Some are comments she retweeted and didn’t write herself:

It’s not easy for people to even like their life sometimes. When you do, then you can start to care for the bigger picture.

(this is in regards to Glenn Beck and the Tea Partiers)
I could give a rat’s rear end about an actor’s politics, even if they want to pontificate about them. About my only exception to that rule is Jane Fonda, because she ACTIVELY supported our enemy on the battlefield, during the Vietnam War.
Mine would be finished but I spend too much time FReeping. ;^)
She has totally changed her tune regarding politics in the latest interview discussing 24. This interview is brand new so it’s post election.
What is your take on some of the issues 24 raises, with regards to politics and torture?
“Avoidance. I like to avoid those issues! People ask, ‘Why does Jack fight so much?’ You know, nobody would watch if he was a zen master! It’s equal to what people will watch.”

This is exactly what I was talking about. When promoting 24, she acts apolitical to leaning conservative. Here is she is taking shots at the liberal critics of the show who denounce torture.
The person who gave this interview does not seem like the same person who made fun of Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and the Tea Party on twitter. Very strange behavior. Only in Hollywood I guess.
