If Cliff Lee pitched all four games, it would be Rangers in 4. But since he isn’t, it will be Rangers in 5.
I am really keeping my expectations for the Rangers low. Call it cautious optimism, with emphasis on cautious.
Although past performance is not a predictor, I find it impossible to forget the weaufing going on during the 2006 NBA Finals with the Mavs up 2 games, leading with ~6 minutes to go in game 3 and the Miami fans booing their hometown team.
Likewise, TCU was favored to beat Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl. SMU was supposed to win over UofH last weekend, too, and we see how that turned out.
We sports fans in the Metroplex have seen too many chokes (and note that I'm not even talking about the Cowboys who were predicted to win it all this year...at home for the SB) since the last championship -- 1999 with the Stars.
I really, really hope the Rangers win but I'm not going to start planning for the hugh World Serious parade...yet.
