Down the the Yankees, oh yeah!
Firsy time I was at the Stadium, the players included Berra, Mantle, Skouren, Whitey Ford, etc., with Stengal in the dugout.
Well that’s a given. My English, not so much! Let’s try that again.....
Maybe Chuck CAN catch W’s first pitch....
HEY HEY HEY!!! Yah! Go TEX-ASS!!!!
Hopefully this will cut back on all the friggin Yankee hats.
As an aside, this just earned Cliff Lee an extra $10-20 million from the best team that money can buy.
Same here but I will not fang ya for you misspelling of the ‘Old Professer’ Casey and and the Moose!!! and....Okay LCS.....Go to youtube....Type in Mickey Mantle...and go from there! Great links!!
YEE HAW!! From a long suffering Rangers fan!! Sooooo happy!
FEAR THE DEER!!!!!!!
GO POKES!!
YEAH BABY! Go Rangers!!!!!!!!!
We used to live in Arlington and went to sooo many games there at the beautiful new ball park. Boy, never thought we’d see this day! Our household is STOKED!
Great to see the Bush team beat the Clinton/Schumer team. Even better would be beating the SF Pelousy gang! In Texas, after GW throws a perfect strike to open the game, then sits behind home plate with Laura.
I remember attending a Spurs game there. But I sort of remember the team being referred to, wrongly but fairly commonly, as the "Turnpike Spurs" more than the "DFW" Spurs as the text next to the photo at your provided link states that team was named.
They were part of the White Sox farm system? Triple A? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I do remember 'ol gravel-voiced Tom Vandergriff. He did quite a bit for Arlington. Elected back when folks were still arguing over para-mutual horse racing (which had many years ago taken place not too far from where the stadiums are now). More out towards where the failed Six Flags Mall is (was? have they torn it down?) but not quite that far East.
Even better news for them is the fact they saved Lee to pitch game one of the world series.
P1 here in Mesquite. Wife hates it when I use her car and change her station.
Yes, White Sox sounds right. Have no idea about AAA or the like.
Six Flags Mall is still there and open, albeit with a number of vacancies. The Forum 303 Mall a few miles south of there has been demolished and replaced with a large trucking/warehouse complex.
The ruins of the old racetrack stables for Arlington Downs were found on the south side of Division St. (south of the ballparks), just to the west of Stadium Drive. Oil States Rubber Company was just east of the stables.
Tom Vandergriff was a good guy. He did do a lot for the city. He served one term as a Congressman and was I believe swept out of office during the Republican Revolution. He went on to be a judge and may still be serving. Unsure about the last part.
Have a great day!
May they crush either of those teams from those outrageous leftist and corrupt cities.
YEEE-HAWWWW, boys and girls and assorted others!!!
Yip-yip-yip!!! Alla da way wit da Rangers!!!
Let’s go....
Amen and amen. I heard that!!
SoCal has a bit of investment in the Rangers too, having sent Angel Vladimir Guerrero (gotta love the name) to Texas, and he comported himself well yesterday evening with 3 ribbies.
I'm pretty sure I saw him, standing discreetly behind Nolan Ryan and wearing a plain white shirt. This was from a news clip as I did not watch on TV, only listened to the game on radio. The ESPN announcers were quite disappointed with the Yankees going down, I could tell...
