"Any top ten list is bound to be subjective, but this one has criteria: to make this list, a show must have longevity (Sports Night was great, but didnt last), staying power (Threes Company was funny, but hopelessly dated), strong writing (hopefully self-explanatory) and memorable moments (theres a good reason that the final episode of M.A.S.H. was until very recently the most watched show in television history). Here are my choices, and let the debate begin."

I had to list 11 (in no order):
Married With Children (early episodes were the brashest funniest stuff ever...Oh, and I love you Kelly Bundy!!)
Gunsmoke (Ensemble cast second to none)
The Honeymooners (The best ever)
Freaks and Geeks (what this could have been
)
24 (early years only. Jack kicked ass
and shot thighs
and, well
)
Monty Pythons Flying Circus (talent and humor that wont ever be matched)
MASH (early years only
went from best show to worst show on tv)
Leave it to Beaver (Rock solid and always enjoyable)
The Odd Couple (Way underrated
always funny)
The Rockford Files (Until Magnum came along, Jim ruled)
Magnum PI (Before Thomas ruled, Jim ruled)

No list w/out:
Barney Miller - IMO the pinnacle of Television.
Sanford & Son
and the short run show - Franks Place - too bad it didn't last...very well done.
all the rest are just filler compared to these two shows. On the Brit side I'll add:
Are You Being Served? (I have every episode dl'd.)
'Allo 'Allo (same)
Fawlty Towers
To The Manor Born is also on the short-list.
TV entertainment at its finest!

“Mash in the first 3 seasons was great but then they went to hell”
The deadpan comedy of those seasons was superb. Then it got far too campy.

Can't beleive nobody mentioned Quincy M.E. greaat show and predecesor to just about evey CSI type show on TV today.
P.S. loved Twilight Zone, Star Trek TOS, and late 80's SNL, with Hartman, Farley, Carvey. Much better than the drugged out Belushi and Chase IMHO.

You left out Burn Notice. Totally Miami...Funny, criminal, and at times very gripping. Plus Fi is so hot. Any chick that says "can I shoot him now?" has to be on our "A" List...
