Has Marriage Changed Rush Limbaugh?

Posted on 10/08/2010 5:26:50 PM PDT by Vision

What do regular listeners of Rush think of the show since he married?

Why? Because the daily FR live threads seem to have relatively few posts in them. Today's thread had 64 replies. I can't remember a live show ever getting that few.

Also, I used to religiously downloaded the podcasts every day, and I haven't done so in a few weeks for some reason.

The content is still good but I'm wondering if something has changed. Like he's lost an aggressive style or something.

Rush explained the Podcast problem on today's show.

The slurping noises were the background to the “My Boy Lollipop” Barney Frank song. Due to the expensive royalty payments, Rush can't play the music on the Podcast, but the “added” background content still played.

Was that after his first or second $10 million?

She could be the mother of all liberal operatives. Sedate Rush’s mojo. ;)

My first thought. Sort of makes sense, if you get my drift. 'Course he's loaded too.

I listen to Rush less now. It just seems like there are many more commercial breaks. And then he has guest hosts that don't measure up to the competition, so I just kind of don't listen as often. I think he's as good as ever, though.

Thanks for the link, Alex.
I’m going to try Radiotime.com

I know someone who was at Elrusbo’s wedding and she said it was the most stunning she had ever been to.
She is a good friend of his and said he is deliriously happy with Kathyrn(who it’s reported is just as beautiful inside as she is out) and she with him.
There aren’t going to be any more marriages. Maharushi has found the love of his life.

We need to cut him some slack. He has all of his old golf outings to go to..plus now he is a starstruck groom!
K. is in studio alot. I think there should be hardfast rule: No spouses allowed! Too much of a distraction! :-)

Rush has been on fire lately. Newly married may have something to do with it.

It is you, not him. He is the man! I have listened to him every day for over twenty years. I wouldn’t miss him for nothing. He is entertaining, insightful, gregarious, informative, and with biting humor. Somebody that pisses off the Marxists so much, must be doing something right. Who else has been called out by name by the alien president? Not Savage, not Coulter, not Hannity, not O’Reilly. He takes the flak because he is over the target. Dittos

Do you folk’s even consider Rush is just getting older? He’s been at this since 1988 and has had a lot of bumps along the way

I stopped listening to him during the Elian Gonzales thing...too much vitriol and spittle flying out of my radio speaker.

“I’m going to try Radiotime.com”

It is fantastic.
I forgot to mention, there is a preset function.
When you have found a good link, you can plug it in
to the preset page. If you use the presets, be sure and refresh the page before you use it.
My presets include a few music stations, one from London,
and another from Kuala Lumpur, and other talk shows, such as Levin.

I like Rush a lot more when it isn’t football or golf season.

Which equates to about 2 weeks a year.

Technically speaking, he doesn't come on WABC until 12:07, but who's counting? :-)

I like Rush too. Been listening for almost 20 years. Amazing. If he starts boring me, I listen to sports talk for a bit and check back in.

I don't really like any of his guest hosts. The only exception is Mark Steyn. I think I actually like Steyn better than Rush. Not sure I'd tune into Steyn for 20 years running though.

I still won’t point it out.

he posted as himself. made a comment on FReeper “girlene’s” name being one of the top 10 favorite names. it was on a thread, of course, about Rush. his post number was a 1/2. pretty funny. in between say 150 and 151, it was 150 1/2. i’ve read rumors about a couple other posts.

Mark Levin is the only one I know of other than Tony Snow (RIP Tony) that posted on FR.

I agree. In some ways I feel that he’s losing interest?

You obviously have not listened to him in the past few weeks. He had a tirade last Friday during the first hour that was as passionate as I have ever heard during the 20 years I have been a listener.

I agree that he is the greatest talk show host ever. Rush, if you happen to read this, you’ll never know how many gorgeous days at the beach we have shared. Via my radio, of course.

It’s not that Rush has changed much on his philosophy; in fact, not at all. But for at least 3 years I can only listen to him for a few minutes at a time before turning him off. It’s the presentation, like these stupid, faux, off-air, one-sided “conversations” with Snerdley; his stuttering/stammering, etc. I don’t think he’s as prepared daily like he once was. Also, I think his mind is usually about 10 seconds ahead of his mouth, which causes him to be very choppy. I wish he was still the Rush of the early ‘90’s. And I gotta wonder if the hearing thing also affects his delivery more significantly than I can imagine.

I know he’d hang up on me for elevating him, in my estimation, over Rush, but Mark Levin is by far the best radio talk-show host out there. Of course, even he has his sub-par shows.

I have to turn off most of the guest hosts too. The day after Family Guy aired, I listened for about 20 minutes or so and shut it off.

Several regular posters who contributed heavily to the thread are very busy electioneering for various conservative candidates. I think Rush has been excellent lately, and thought he absolutely hit it out of the park when he called the Establishment onto the carpet.
