An ex-US air force chief has given an astonishing account of an encounter with a UFO at an air force base in Suffolk. Charles Halt is one of a number of senior former airmen who went public today over claims that UFOs had tampered with nuclear missiles in the US and the UK. Mr Halt, who retired in 1991, told a press conference that he was working at RAF Bentwater near Rendelsham in Suffolk in 1980 when he had the terrifying encounter.

He said that early one morning in December 1980 several of his base's security forces saw lights in the forest near Woodbridge. RAF Bentwaters USA airbase in Rendlesham, Suffolk. Aliens fired beams of light at the base 30 years ago, it has been claimed. Two patrolman were sent out to approach the craft which they described as 'triangular, dark metallic in appearance', Mr Halt said. It quickly and silently 'vanished at high speed'.

A few weeks later Mr Halt was told by his boss that the lights were back and so he went back out into the forest with a couple of policeman, a camera and a cassette recorder. At the site he saw 'indentations of around six to eight feet wide' and increased levels of radiation as well as broken branches on the trees. Mr Halt said: 'Milling around, one of the individuals saw a bright glowing object like an eye. It would appear to be winking and was shedding molten metal and silently moving through the trees and at one point it actually approached us.' He said that the object then exploded into five white objects which became visible in the sky.

I’m a bit amazed at how calculated it seems to be.

I didn’t think they were THAT precise about things.

I figured it would all be much more happenstance mixed with calculated mixed with loosening the reins etc.

Yet, watching the whole playing field the last 3-12 months . . . it’s been very very incremental but inexorably onward and at a faster clip than many might have thought would be the case.

On March 16, 1967, Salas was 60 feet below ground working a 24-hour shift monitoring a launch-control center outfitted with 10 nuclear Minuteman missiles.

"I got a call from the topside guard, telling me they were watching some strange lights flying around in the sky, making odd maneuvers. They didn't think they were airplanes because they were going very fast, turning on a dime and not making a bit of noise," Salas told AOL News.

"A few minutes later, he called back, this time screaming into the phone, scared to death, and he said, 'Sir, I'm looking out my front window and there is a glowing red oval-shaped object hovering right above the front gate, and I've got all the guards out here with their weapons drawn.' "

The guard told Salas the UFO was approximately 30 to 40 feet in diameter with a very bright, pulsating light.

When the guard asked what they should do next, Salas' immediate response was that they had to do whatever was necessary to protect the nuclear missile area, "so basically, I was giving them permission to use whatever force they needed to use to keep anything out."

As Salas started to inform his duty partner and commander about what was going on 60 feet above them, something chilling happened.

"All of a sudden, we started getting bells and whistles going off. As we looked at the display board in front of us, sure enough, the missiles began going into an unlaunchable, or no-go, mode. They couldn't be launched -- it went from green to red.

"We also had a couple of security violations, meaning there were lights indicating some kind of intrusion at the missile sites, where the missiles were actually located, about a mile or two away from the launch control facility."

Salas said they immediately performed a system checklist to see what was wrong and to determine how it was possible that 10 nuclear missiles could suddenly be deactivated.

"We were getting mostly guidance and control systems failure, and when I called the guard again, he told me the UFO just left and took off at high speed. So I ordered the guards to go out to the missile sites, and while they were out there, they saw the object again at one of the launch facilities.

"It scared them to death again, and they actually lost radio contact while they were near the object and then they returned to the base. I later learned they never returned to security guard duty."

Salas said it was extraordinary that they lost so many missiles at the same time. Isolated mishaps had made a single missile go "unlaunchable," but never 10 at once. And never 10 at once during a UFO sighting.

As a result of the incident, the missiles had to be fixed to get them all back into launch mode.

Actually, I’m comforted by the naysayers.

A week or so ago, they seemed to have disappeared. I found that rather ominous. Like they’d all been reassigned to other disinfo projects because it was soon to be more than moot.

I’d much rather they drug disclosure out far longer than they appear to be doing.

IIRC, there was a team doing something away from the control bunker and could see craft over the warheads shining a light down into the warhead storage.

I don’t recall anyone asserting that craft were over the control silo/bunker.

I concur. There's been too may sightings by credible people. From airline pilots, the military and Police Departments₍₁₎. And during WII these UFOs were called 'Foo-Fighters' by our guys.

BUT, per our laws of Physics, Space Travel like this is *impossible*.

Even going -1⁹⁹MPS less than the speed of light it would still take 'forever' to get to the nearest Galaxy. The bending of Space Time to close the Distance Gap doesn't do it either even going 'near' LS. We're stills talking decades - in our time. And Time Travel, as we know it, is out as theoretically 'we' can't go backwards only forwards. So they can't be 'us' coming back from the future to say 'Hi'.

That leave s one thing -- Parallel Universes. With those they could pop from one to the other like *that*. That would also explain why here Gravity is the weakest force -- it leaks from *Their Universe* where it's strong, to ours where it's weak. And per the M-Theory, Parallel, or multi-Universes CAN exist. So with our science that does work.

Ergo, its a conundrum. If UFO's and Space Aliens do exist it would be really cool to prove it. On the downside they could kill us all just for the heck of it.

(1) A *few years back* there was a UFO flying low over middle IL. It was tracked by three different PDs and those Cops in their squads as it 'flew' West.

Agreed...I believe I saw a TV show awhile back that said France (or maybe a Euro group of countries) actually has a published book for police and fire fighters concerning what to do in case of UFO contact. And it’s not a joke book :-)
