I heard never to name a dog a person’s name. Thought that was silly, until I named my present dog, Max. He thinks he is human.

Many animals are more ‘human’ in terms of compassion and caring than a lot of humans walking around today. A great compliment to those particular animals, and a sad commentary on those humans.

Dogs think they’re human.
Cats think they’re gods.

I heard never to name a dog a persons name. My dad has a dog named "Greta" and a lady moved in his condo unit with the same name. Dad was pretty embarassed when he was yelling at the dog one day and saw the lady looking at him like he was the devil.
