Naming a Dog (Vanity)

I am trying to think of a good name for a dog, just acquired from the pound. He's been neutered, seems to be a bit less than one year old. He's part blue heeler and part black lab with ears that do not seem to be of either of those two breeds. He's joining the alpha male guard dog and the little mama dog who are both getting up there in years.
If anyone has any good suggestions for naming him, I'd appreciate it.

Steer; or just call him dog and be done with it. Does cause confusion at times but is easy to remember as you age.

He's doing well, still FULL of energy, gets on the two oldsters' nerves, he's smart and so eager to please.

THANKS for giving me a nickname for him, Bloopie, he’s too young to hear any nicks yet, but when it’s appropriate, I’ll use it for fun, love the spelling of “Bloo” also.
