I'm suspecting that after JT and the Bride put in their bid
and it was accepted, that another offer slightly higher was received. I suspect that this is being used as an excuse to get out of the deal in order to accept (if indeed another bid was proffered) the higher bid.
I don't know if such is the case. This is my suspicion only.
If it so happens that your suspicion is correct, they can actually sue the real estate company and the escrow company. AND, if it was me, I would because if they are doing this to JT and his bride, they have done it before.
I've closed on a house while in a hospital, just after surgery and still high on the anesthesia. There is a high probability that you are correct.
