Reading lots of Nevil Shute (again). Seems these novels are being reissued and several are in a Kindle format.

The calm competence of the characters in these novels is just wonderful. Stories are about ordinary people doing extra ordinary things.

That’s true...a very good way to describe those books. Do you have a favorite, and do you know of another writer with similar themes?? They do seem to match the times we find ourselves in.

Have you read Shute’s “Trustee from the Toolroom” yet? It is one of my favorite Shute stories.
