They had cars back then? Just...Dang!
A Gaulish Chieftain taunts his enemies
If it ignores the Bicameral Mind theory...it is premature and half baked!
Even Richard Dawkins is moved by the idea of the Bicameral Mind...and recent neuro-imaging techniques have confirmed it.
If you readers don't know of it...the time is right for you to dig!
“A butt beaker, a type of Gaulish pre-Roman period drinking vessel, bronze tweezers, a flagon and a cremation jar were also discovered.”
Kind of an early Swiss Army Knife gadget? Odd combination of things to be found in a butt breaker, inmho...
When did you become Free Republic's resident butt breaker expert?
The Romans were only about 500 years ahead of the rest of the world. They pretty much built the UK then got sick of the crappy weather and bad food.
I will take a nice pasta with a good tomato sauce over eels and potatoes any day.
Today, Brits with money are fleeing to Italy (Tuscany) to get away from the Islamic hell hole the Labour Party, political correctness and TV newsmedia created in the UK.
They found Beaker's butt?
“But apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
I thought that was a long-nosed dog.
lol my moms favorite book.
LOL! So true. Some of the stuff the Romans were capabale of is just staggering.
2,000 years later - places like Detroit, Chicago, Camden NJ, Oakland and other cities are incapable of most of the things you listed.
Freaking Detroit is going to end of as vacant lot and it will be a huge improvement.
“...second century BC saucepan...”
It is obviously a Roman (Italian) settlement. Unless there is a good tomato sauce for the food then life is not worth living.
There was no tomato sauce before the New World but aside from that it is sad to see a once great super power go out with a whimper.
You should have seen Detroit before the riots and before the Democrats took over. It was known as the Paris of the Midwest. It was a beautiful city surrounded by beautiful sprawling neighborhoods with shopping districts and their own distinct character. Tree lined streets, beautiful homes. It’s a shame what’s become of that once great city. Its nothing but a cesspool now.
Alright then, I guess if someone is an expert in butt breakers at least antique but breakers are respectable. Carry on.
